We are filing for AOS from a K-1 Visa. I just went to copy the final documents, including the I-94 in my passport and noticed that although everything on the front is correct, the back says under "Record of Changes" - "Married to USC, Scott Mathews". First of all, I was NOT married at time of entry as I entered on a K-1 (big no no!) and second, Mathews is my now husband's STREET NAME, not his last name! What the hell! Is this going to be an issue? We went through the POE at Blaine WA which was hell in itself (Already have my car import form filled out with the date 12/27/2011 as the import date... we did not do any time travel as far as I know. I am just SO overwhelmed with all of this problems. I would like to have some assurance that we are paying these people to do their jobs, properly, but my faith is worn thin.

Help!!! I want this filed by tomorrow morning and I am having a panick attack here. :((((

There was another girl who also had problems with her I-94 and she was able to call the airport or go back and had a deferred inspection by the Customs and Border Patrol. They issued her another I-94 with correct data. Might want to call your airport and have a visit.. Goodluck and don't worry, you can settle this :) Hope that helps somewhat

Thank you! I just called USCIS and got some spiel being read off the computer. I called the POE, they can't fix my I-94 but they can adjust my vehicle import form. I decided to just make an infopass appointment for tomorrow morning and hopefully get this thing sent off tomorrow afternoon :/ Ughhhhhhhh. Such a hassle. Why are people so useeeelessss!?

You should also look into your local CBP office.

Hope you get it worked out! I know how frustrating it is!

I called the CBP today and they told me to go to CIS office. If they can't do it there, I will march on out to the airport (CBP office). Thanks :)

Here's a thought: why don't you do nothing?

If you're being called in for an interview and asked about it, you'll explain that a CBP officer must have made a mistake, and if you're not called in, what's it to you what's written on the I-94? It shows when you entered the US, you can prove when you got married based on the Certificate of Marriage, and although I don't think very highly of Government agencies in general, Immigration Officers are actually not that stupid.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . You should be doing this in the first place. Try the Deferred Inspection office of CBP. Since CBP issued the erroneous document, it's up to them to fix it.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Brought to USCIS Local office and hoping for the best. They simply scratched out what was written on the rear of the I-94 and dated and initialed it. Now, let's hope for no RFE :/ The vehicle import issue can wait a few weeks. Heading to POE for that.
