Hi, my name is Jennifer.

Mustafa and I met each other in June 2010 on an online dating site. I had become rather discouraged with the nature of other men and their communication to me from that particular site, so I had put in my profile something about hoping for an "honest hello". Mustafa sent me a message saying "Here is your honest hello." And the rest is history, I suppose :), as we have been more or less inseparable since that moment--or at least as inseparable as you can be with an ocean and a couple of continents in between you.

So there is a long, lovely yet struggling story from June 2010 until this day, but I suspect I shall have to share it in pieces as I continue to participate on this board. What God wills for us, we cannot know, and there are many obstacles and struggles ahead, but we are going to do the best we can with what is in our control, and we are going to go forward and do our part to make our lives and our families as one.

At this point we are planning to meet in person for the first time this summer in India, so that is the biggest goal on the horizon. So I would love any travel advice about that. But after our meeting, I will begin the petition for Mustafa's K1 (Fiance) Visa. So I am thinking ahead, and would love some support, and information and tips from other people's experiences.

Mustafa is from Kabul, Afghanistan. So I would love to connect with couples who one is also from Afghanistan, and also get advice on what to expect with the visa process from that country. Mustafa is Shia and I have no intention of reverting, so I would also love to connect with couples who will be maintaining two religions (I am LDS), especially any that are Shia.

Thanks in advance, and lots of love to everyone from me.

I can't give you any country specific information and I certainly can't give you any religeous advice but I can say welcome and I think you have come to the right place. I will share with you my K-1 preparation thoughts. START KEEPING RECORDS OF EVERYTHING!!! Phone logs, chat logs, emails and anything else you can think of. When you meet take lots of pictures and keep reciepts and boarding passes. Good luck!
