Arrived in the US ten days ago, so happy to finally be here :)

Slowly getting myself prepared for AOS uurgghh...

The officer at O'Hare stapled my I-94 into my passport, but only the last part which says 'Departure Record' Is that the only part that I need?

She kept the other two parts.

Just wanted to double-check...Seems a bit strange for me to have that part since I'm not planning on going anywhere...!

Thank you

That's right, just the little slip. It shows how you entered and how long you have to stay (or in your case get married), etc. You keep it until you depart or change your status - If you get an interview they will take it for their records that you changed status. Good luck!

You I-94 would have prob 90 days from day you entered, if you entered on K1.

Which shows you are legally in the country until that date.

When you get married within 90 days of entering and when you file for AOS and do the AOS interview would be the time they would take away your i-94 and cancel in the record that now you are perm resident and you dont need to depart by that date.
