Hello !

So now Im in the USA, married my wonderful husband and ready to start the next step of paperwork. I went to the bank to get the letter from them for the affidavit of support and the banker asked me whom to address it to. He said it would look more professional if I had the correct sending information.

I did so much learning on the K1 process .. and in this area I am quite new, Im back to where just when I thought I had it right, another question comes up, but with the K1 I had all the time in the world to learn, this one, not so much.

So when were ready to send off the paperwork ( I think its going to a lockbox ?! ) where do I send it too, and how do I have the letter sent .. To Whom It May Concern ?

You're sending to a Lockbox in Chicago, so that address would be fine. However, this banker sounds like s/he is being so polite and giving you something you don't really need - you might consider just sending a statement of account so USCIS can look over it. I don't see a real need for a personally addressed letter, but I am amazed at such nice service at your bank! Congrats on the marriage!

When doing ROC, my wife and I did not have a joint bank account. We had and still have quite a few bank accounts at the same Citibank branch, but since I didn't want the bank manager to know that I'm dealing with immigration, I asked for a letter "To Whom it May Concern" listing our bank accounts, the balances of each, and the fact that my wife and I have both unlimited access to any of those accounts.

The letter looked darn professional, but you know what was even more professional? I'll tell you: the bank manager asking me for what I needed the letter. Had she been so unprofessional to ask that, I would given her an answer that would have matched such unprofessional nosiness.
