pay attention

you can pay at the portal with the GUZ #, until you get the email about the GZO #.

Successful OPT IN has nothing to do with the IV showing up as payable,

OPT IN success is solely granted by an email stating the GZO #.

you gots a GUZ # or a GZO # ?

I have a GZO #. I received the AOS fee bill under the GUZ #, but it was subsequently changed and now everything comes in with the GZO #. I received the AOS receipt, so I guess I'm good to go.

BTW, I was advised on another post to be sure to include the Packet 3 Supplement page with the AOS documents, but I haven't yet received packet 3. I thought packet 3 was what you get when you are requested to send in DS-230. What's the case with this?

Thanks,

The Packet 3 Supplemtental will be submitted with your DS-230. You can print it from this website, just need to select GZO and it will be displayed. You can have your wife print it and complete in both English & Chinese, handwritten. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3830.html

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I'll send out the AOS documents today. I'll include the Packet 3 Supplemental with the D-230 documents, when I get to that stage.

So far, I'm impressed with the speed of EP. It took less than four days from the time I opted in until I had a paid AOS receipt. Any idea when I can expect Packet 3?

Thanks, guys, You've been most helpful.

I think mine was around 10 days after I paid the IV, not sure if it has changed.

Do not forget the I-864 barcode payment page when sending your email.

AOS

Maybe I have the terminology wrong. I'm waiting for the IV invoice so that I can pay it. I've already received my receipt for the AOS fee, and the AOS documents will get out to NVC tomorrow. I'm all set with the DS-230 and EOR supporting documents. As soon as the invoice comes in I'll pay it and get that out, too, when I get the 'paid' notice. As far as these go, I have everything ready. I don't think there is anything else to do until we receive Packet 4 with the medical instructions, etc. If I'm missing something here, please let me know. I don't mind being pushed

Thanks,

Nope you aren't missing anything, I knew when you said packet 3 that you meant the IV invoice.

I'm ready to send the AOS and supporting documents. I have a complicated financial situation, so I've prepared quite a bit of supporting evidence. The result is that I have about 11 pdf files that I will attach to the email. I don't know if you are familiar with this but Adobe Acrobat can create a PDF Portfolio that will include all of the pdf files in one document. It does not merge the files, but allows them to exist as separate documents, but within one portfolio. When you open the portfolio, it shows large thumbnails of each document that can be either enlarged or opened by clicking on it. I plan to use that feature for the additional supporting documents I have. It really is a no-brainer for anyone trying to understand what it is. I just hope it makes sense to whoever it is that opens the file. Anyone ever used this device with NVC?

I suggest you not make a pdf portfolio, but solely make either

-one pdf file or

-collection of pdf files

IMO, adobe portfolio will confuse any adjudicator.

OK - so yer waiting on the IV fee bill to show up ON THE ONLINE PAYMENT PORTAL (some ppl get an email about it, some ppl don't) -

so keep checking the payment portal.

WHEN IT'S AVAILABLE TO BE PAID - that's yer indication that the DS-3032 was added to the casefile successfully.

Hang in there !

Hang in there !

I received an email for the IV invoice yesterday and paid it via the online payment portal. When the payment clears, I'll send off the IV documents.

I would like to be present for my wife's interview, but the best I could do was sneak in a two-week visit from June 8 through 23. I guess there is a slim chance my wife will have her interview during my visit, but it will most likely happen shortly after I've left. In any case, five two-week visits in one year, in addition to photos, affidavits, overseas money transfers and email correspondence, should be enough establish a genuine relationship.

Don't forget to include the IV payment barcoded coversheet. Not sure if that is what you meant when you said you would wait for payment to clear. Also you may want to write your EOR letter if you haven't already.

Actually, a PDF Portfolio is a collection of Pdf files. It has the same .pdf extension and it opens the same way as a single pdf file. The difference, and advantage of it, is that rather than combining many pdf files into one and having to scroll down and search for the particular document you need, you have each document neatly displayed in a window. You simply click and the file opens. It is a great way to keep pdf files organized and ready for viewing.

ok - but can you open it with another pdf reader program without plugins ?

test it with foxit pdf reader - if it works, as is, on another computer (one without adobde acrobat installed)

then yer golden .

It opens with Adobe Reader, or any program that can open a .pdf extension.

I received my IV bill yesterday and paid it via the online payment portal. Today, it showed as 'paid' status, so I sent in all the IV documentation. If everything goes well, I should be through we NVC soon. With a little luck, I may make my wife's interview, after all. Thanks everyone for the support.
