After two weeks of receiving NOA2, I finally got an NVC case number. I'm ready to opt in, but I am unclear about what to do next.

Here's what I'm gonna do:

1) Send an email to NVCElectronic@state.gov with appropriate subject line, body and 2032 PDF attachment (as per the VJ EP guide)

2) A few days later, call NVC to request changing to EP.

At this point, I'm stumped. Do I wait an email notification to pay fees, or is there a way to log in to the OPTIN system and pay fees?

Other questions, pertaining to Chinese names and signatures in Chinese characters:

On the OPTIN email to NVC, should I place my wife's given name first (as in the Western tradition)? Does it matter if she writes her signature in Chinese or Roman characters?

please remember that using the online payment portal will speed things along, as well

and

mostly, it's a parallel process to EP.

see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467

it's not enough to have a case number, IMO - you NEED to have the 'ds-3032 kit' in yer email inbox

and ya get that, usually, from talking to a human at NVC, giving them email addys on you two.

I think it's time to redo the wiki - a lot of formatting got lost last year during an upgrade. grr.

it's always a good thing to read the DJ Walker thread, on/about after post #14. see DJ Walker - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/251451-uscis-nvc/ as I walked him through every conceivable topic on EP for Guangzhou.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

In that case, I may have jumped the gun! My wife sent in the OPTIN email with the DS-3032 attached last night. I had called the NVC to receive the NVC case number and I did give him the email addresses, but I hadn't yet received the DS-3032 kit. What do do in this case? Should I resend the email when the kit arrives?

We just received an email from NVC acknowledging receipt of our OPTIN email and confirming that we are now enrolled in the EP program. We received our new GZO case number but there was no mention about the DS-3032. I wonder what the take is on the DS-3032. Is there any harm in submitting it again?

Thanks

the 'thing' to do, at this point, is to pay the AOS fee bill, that gets the 'document submittal process' going.

but

if you not have any aos fee bill, you need to call into NVC, get a Human again,

and

ask for the 'aos fee bill to be sent to you, via email'.

paying the fees jump starts the document submittal process, can't submit anything until fees are paid.

if you study ling che, the online payment portal mini-guide, and the EP wiki page, you can get some concept of how 'waiting on documents' is tied to 'paid at NVC payment portal'.

Today I was able to log on to the payment portal. I paid the $88 for the AOS. I called NVC to ask if they had the DS3032 on hand, and they said they did not. Again, should I resubmit the DS3032? I guess the payments are the real thing to get through the process quickly, but the DS3032 needs to be received before too long. I will call tomorrow to see if they've record of the DS3032. If they don't, I'll have to resend it, though to where I am not sure.

nvc is getting weird again, suggest to send OPT IN email once a day, around 10 AM EST (that's 11 PM China time), for a week.

I don't know if I read you correctly: I should send the 3032 as an attachment to the optin email address each day for a week? Sound's like it may piss them off.

opt in process is not just 'send a ds-3032'

it's a specific email, with a specific subject line, bits are positional, supposedly,

and the body has specific info in it, with a scanned/signed ds-3032.

i'm suggesting that you OPT IN once a day, for a week, as

NVC is getting wonky on it's email system again.

as for 'pissing them off' - mmmmmmmmmmmm no.

I sent the ds3032 as an attachment to the optin email address with our GZO number in the subject. Got an email this morning confirming receipt of ds3032. One more small step forward.

Thanks,

ok - i'm confused - if you have a GZO #, then you've already successfully 'OPTED IN'.

to send another OPT IN email with a GZO # in the subject line, is not only redundant, but will confuse the auto-email processing system, much.

The optin email was successfully received when it was first sent. I got confirmation on that the following day. The second email sent to nvcelectronic@state.gov had the ds3032 attached and was technically not an optin email (I stated only the GZO number in the subject line, without prefacing it with 'optin'). In any case, I received a reply the following day that my ds3032 was received. I recently paid the AOS and received 'paid' status on that yesterday. On Monday I'll send in the I-864 package (as soon as I'm sure I have everything in order and know what I'm doing)

Thanks,

Andrew

pay attention

you can pay at the portal with the GUZ #, until you get the email about the GZO #.

Successful OPT IN has nothing to do with the IV showing up as payable,

OPT IN success is solely granted by an email stating the GZO #.

you gots a GUZ # or a GZO # ?
