Your suggestion, not mine; my point was "who cares?"

I don't care what they did with the body except that a degree of decency should be used for our own sense of decency - and I believe it was

My issue is against the "sew him up in pig's carcass" people who reflect badly on themselves and their upbringing and their current home cirumstances

Just heard from the WH that Bin Laden was unarmed. I am impressed that the WH would admit that when they didn't have to. I don't see anything wrong with this being an official assassination in any case but the opennesss of the WH by saying that is impressive.

I remember the Iranian Embassy siege in London where the SAS tried to kill everyone and even raged at the women who hid a young unarmed terrorist behind their skirts and got him out of the building. He is still in prison. The Brits are far less honest and always have a lie ready, so it's a pleasant surprise that the Americans are so honest when they don't have to be in those circumstances.

I think all need to take a deep breath and realize Osama deserved no respect, that he may have gotten a respectful burial at sea, in accordance with a religion he bastardized and shamed is a bit of a shame. Perverse in my opinion in fact. Thus while my comment regarding stuffing pickled pigs feet into his dead mouth was meant to offend Osama's fans it was equally meant in jest and I find accusing me of Christanity or low morals to be quite equal parts sad and humorous.

Thank God!!!

Nevertheless - we have a duty to show the Christians that we are more moral than them in order to evangelize them as much as they evangelize us.

The vast majority of non religious people are avid fans of Jesus' ways but cannot bring themselves to believe in a god

They are smeared by religious people who say the non believers are less moral and have no moral compass

We should not waste any opportunity to point out when the religious people are acting in total contradiction of Jesus' ways - eg torture - and shooting abortion doctors --- and stealing from the poor to give to the rich etc

The US is filled with religious people who come out with the most appalling cruelties and desecrations and exploitations and see no contradiction with being a christian

The vast majority of slave owners were christians

The likes of me are here to clarify the situation for them

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Wiki says he was born in England but never could speak English - only French

I knew we could pin it on the French if we looked hard enough

The English, with no sense of irony, called their armored vehicle 'The Saracen'

Just like the Americans calling their helicopter after a people they had committed genocide against (The Apache))

Our leaders never cease to give us a reason to shake our heads as in 'operation Odyssey Dawn'

(think I went out with her)

US General Patton was quoted at a gathering of English elites that England and the US were destined to rule the world. That it was our duty to be shepherds to the rest... He was wrong of course...but then again he might have hit upon something.

Then he went round the field hospital slapping American soldiers across the face and calling them cowards

He never did move on to a diplomatic career and as for ruling the world ...

I think he would have approved of the Donald though

Patton got mixed reviews. He was full of himself, but he did call it correct in regards to the Soviet Union hence the reason he got ran over by a car in Berlin within a few days of making that statement. Britain and the US sold out Eastern Europe to the Russians knowing full well what would happen to those peoples. We even lied to the public for years about important fact in regards to Russian massacre of Poles, deportation of Batlics peoples, or when Britain handed over allies to the Russians knowing they would be murdered. The US did the same thing.

Katyn massacre

"The growing Polish-Soviet crisis was beginning to threaten Western-Soviet relations at a time when the Poles' importance to the Allies, significant in the first years of the war, was beginning to fade, due to the entry into the conflict of the military and industrial giants, the Soviet Union and the United States. In retrospective review of records, both British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and US President Franklin D. Roosevelt were increasingly torn between their commitments to their Polish ally, the uncompromising stance of Sikorski and the demands by Stalin and his diplomats.

In private, Churchill agreed that the atrocity was likely carried out by the Soviets. According to Count Edward Raczyński, Churchill admitted on 15 April 1943 during a conversation with General Sikorski: "Alas, the German revelations are probably true. The Bolsheviks can be very cruel." However, at the same time, on 24 April 1943 Churchill assured the Soviets: "We shall certainly oppose vigorously any 'investigation' by the International Red Cross or any other body in any territory under German authority. Such investigation would be a fraud and its conclusions reached by terrorism." Unofficial or classified UK documents concluded that Soviet guilt was a "near certainty", but the alliance with the Soviets was deemed to be more important than moral issues; thus the official version supported the Soviet version, up to censoring the contradictory accounts. Churchill's own post-war account of the Katyn affair gives little further insight. In his memoirs, he refers to the 1944 Soviet inquiry into the massacre, which found the Germans guilty and adds, "belief seems an act of faith."

At the beginning of 1944, Ron Jeffery an agent of British and Polish intelligence in occupied Poland eluded the Abwehr and travelled to London with a report from Poland to the British government. His efforts were at first highly regarded but subsequently ignored by the British, which a disillusioned Jeffery attributed to the treachery of Kim Philby and other high-ranking communist agents entrenched in the British system. Jeffery tried to inform the British government about the Katyn massacre but finally was released from the Army.

In the United States, a similar line was taken, notwithstanding that two official intelligence reports into the Katyn massacre were produced that contradicted the official position. In 1944 Roosevelt assigned his special emissary to the Balkans, Navy Lieutenant Commander George Earle, to produce a report on Katyn. Earle concluded that the massacre was committed by the Soviet Union. Having consulted with Elmer Davis, the director of the Office of War Information, Roosevelt rejected the conclusion (officially), declared that he was convinced of Nazi Germany's responsibility, and ordered that Earle's report be suppressed. When Earle formally requested permission to publish his findings, the President issued a written order to desist. Earle was reassigned and spent the rest of the war in American Samoa.

A further report in 1945, supporting the same conclusion, was produced and stifled. In 1943, two US POWs – Lt. Col. Donald B. Stewart and Col. John H. Van Vliet – had been taken by Germans to Katyn for an international news conference. Later, in 1945, Van Vliet submitted a report concluding that the Soviets were responsible for the massacre. His superior, Maj. Gen. Clayton Bissell, Gen. George Marshall's assistant chief of staff for intelligence, destroyed the report. During the 1951–1952 Congressional investigation into Katyn, Bissell defended his action before Congress, arguing that it was not in the US interest to antagonize an ally whose assistance was still needed against the Empire of Japan."
