Hello,

I am a French student who will first do an internship at California State University Los Angeles, and then a semester as a student in another university (I don't know which one yet).

I already have every forms that I need to do my J-1 Visa for my internship, but I don't have yet everything for my student Visa.

The problem is, I am not sure I will be able to have my student Visa before I leave for my internship in Los Angeles !

So my question is, is there any way I can make this work without coming back to France in order to have my second Visa ? Is it possible to extend my J-1 Visa into a student Visa from the United States (or maybe even Canada ?) ?

Thank you very much for your help !

Antoine

Disregard my previous post, I just realized the second Visa is also a J-1 Visa...

I don't know if I'll be able to avoid going back to France just to get a stupid paper :(

Just in case, does anyone know if it is possible for me to get my 2nd Visa from Canada for example ?
