This is probably common sense but I am going to ask anyway since I'm confused.

When we filed our petition I put Toronto as the consulate we wanted. Later I wound out that we would have to go to Montreal as Toronto doesn't do K-1 visas.

I just received our NOA2 and one box shows Toronto as the consulate and the language below says: "The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate....please contact the consulate with questions and if you would like them to forward the petition to another consulate...."!!

I guess this may be normal since my petition said Toronto, but I thought that they would fix that at the service center and/or that NOA2 would say that it was forwarded to the NVC and they would do it.

My guestion, is this normal??? What will actually happen now?!

As always, it fill first go to NVC even though it doesn't say that and they will send it to Montreal correct?

All K-1 petitions transfer through NVC. You can start calling DOS other day to be updated when it will be transferred to Montreal and ask them your new case number, which should read : MTLXXXXXX.

Once it is transferred to Montreal, you will receive your Packet 3 instructions by mail. If you want to save time and start ahead, here's what they'll ask you to provide : http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=index
