Hi there! After months of browsing around this site, I finally decided to join. I am just looking to get a sense of when we should expect Packet 3 to arrive. I'm really concerned because the mail service isn't as reliable in Mexico as in the States. Our case arrived to Juarez on 4/12/11. Should we expect something around 5/12/11? (When I called the consulate, I was told 8-12 weeks. I can't or don't want to imagine that this is accurate!)

Also, when we received the Notice of Action II (approval of petition), Mexico City was listed as the consulate to process our case. Why was that? Has this happened to anyone else? (It really got my hopes up for an easier and less expensive interview trip. Oh well!)

Thanks for providing any current information.

Hey VJ enthusiast...I received a letter from the Bureau Of Consular Affairs Apr 27'11 stating that within a week the petition will be forwarded to CIUDAD JUAREZ. My fiancee is to expect an instructional package, is this the Packet 3??? If so, how long till this Packet is sent out from JUAREZ??? And does anyone know anything about choosing a consulate for the interview??? I read somewhere on the Dept. of State's website that you are able to choose your interview post. Any suggestion, I would appreciate!!!

Thanks,

SPR&CAR

I could be wrong on this but I don't think you can choose where you have your interview. I believe that Ciudad Juarez is the only place in Mexico where you can go for the interview for a K1 visa.
