That would be today, MAYDAY!

Toyota Corolla, 3.12 gal capacity.

I filled the tank for $50,00 today, an all-time high.

Put in almost 12 gallons.

$4.27/gallon

{not exactly a "Happy Mayday" post...}

The truck I drive for a career and it is a Volvo usually takes up to 200 gallons at least every couple of days.whistling.gif

I filled up my Ford F-150 when I was last home and paid a record 94 dollars at 3.57 a gallon. I ended up driving the wifes KIA around a lot.

I test drove a Prius with ex-wife years ago; found the technology & drive very interesting

but ended up buying a Matrix for the cargo space; Matrix is vg on fuel efficiency too.

Around $3.72 a gallon here in North NJ. I drive a Scion xD (which is basically a funky hatchback with the Toyota Corolla engine) and it's sips gas at the tune of about 30mpg average. Also nice is that I only live 2.5 miles away from where I work. I drive only about 150 miles a week average.

Can't beat the dually long bed for cargo carrying capabilities, espeically with the tow set up. For running around the Prius is fine and parks a LOT easier than the truck ( sometimes it takes 4 spaces just to park because malls mark their short and narrow)

and you can put the prius in the bed for a spare.

Actually one day a cell phone blinded driver almost merged one of those SMART4Two cars into my dually and I had a passing thought that it would make a nice spare.

Something for the Smart4Two driver to tell the grandchildren.

...wondering if the Saudis & Pakistanis will now give Navy Seals a discount at the pump? B-)

$4.44 per gallon, I have to buy the 91 grade stuff. I get pretty poor gase mileage compared to a prius (18 mpg average). For anyone who is on the west coast, if you have a Ralphs card (you know The Dude has one, for ID purposes ) you get $0.10 per gallon off. I know, it's not much, but every bit helps (Shell is the cheapest gas here).

One thing I've noticed (increasingly) in the NYC suburbs -

the posted price that you see from the road will often be 10 cents or more

cheaper than the OUCH! price at the pump.

Lots of stations have $4.17 posted for unleaded and when you get to the pump it's $4.27.
