Hi all,

I am so concern, I was able to help my husband get an interview at my job with the help of my manager who recommended him for the position, we're 100 % sure he will get the job, he went to the interview yesterday and he feels good about it he has a second interview next week, as you guys know we started the removal of condition process and right now we're just waiting for the approval (he went for his fingerprints 3 weeks ago) My concern is that his green card expires May 23 2011 (next month) I'm afraid that when the company see this they might not give him the job because of this, is this possible??? I know that his green card is extended for another year while we're in the removal of condition process, but how will the company know this??? Please help me I am so worry about this.

He did get the NOA1 extending his GC for 1 year, yes? If so, just have him bring that with him so they can make a copy of it to keep on file if they need to.

Hi, thanks for your response....Yes, we have the NOA1 explaining the one year extension. I'm just really afraid they might see this as an issue :(

correct, when the new 10 year comes make a copy of it sent it to the company or show them your new 10 year permanent resident card ,in 5 or 6 weeks to arrived.

Hi, as I mentioned before i'm afraid the company might see this as an issue and not give him the job because of it. I hope there's a way of the company knowing of the extention just with his green card number.

I'm not sure how it works as far as a company being able to access USCIS info with someone's A#, but I would rather be safe and just have him bring the NOA with him to his second interview so they can make a copy of it for his file if they need to.

My husband is currently employed and according to his GC, it expires May 11. We are just keeping his NOA extension letter handy in case it becomes a problem so he can give them a copy if they need it.

Your hubby will just have to explain to them that he has filed the paperwork necessary to get the 10 year green card, show the extension letter showing the current one expires next year, and say he will provide a copy of the 10 year GC upon receiving it.

Edited to add - if this company really wants to hire him (and it seems they do since he got a 2nd interview), they will make sure to get from him the info they need so they can hire him.

They have to E-verify green card holders before they can hire them.

That system informs the company. They should accept his 2yr card with the extension letter with doing the E-verify. He will then need to give the company a copy of his 10yr card when he gets it because they need to keep their files updated on him at work.

yep its just a little form you fill out then the company checks through the USCIS website E-verify. I had to do this for my job and they can find out pretty instantly if its ok to hire you or not!
