15 more days and we will all hit 6 month time period.

I am about an year away from ROC process but curious about the implications of this delay. If the window opens 3 months before the CGC expires then how does one stay legal or travel outside the country after CGC expires while ROC application is in progress.

Sorry for beating a dead horse, I just popped in VJ and wanted to see what was happening within the USCIS - things do not look good!

when your submission is received by USCIS, you will get a letter (frequently called the NOA1 in ROC) from them stating that your 2-year conditional green card has been extended by one year. if the ROC is completed and a 10-year green card is issued WITHIN that year, you are 'in status' and can travel.

most (if not all?) of us* with pending ROCs have soon-to-be-expired or expired green cards, but have the extension letter in hand. (*or our spouses)

My physical "Green Card" expired in June but as mentioned I have the letter extending my status by 12 months.

I called USCIS today and the lady told me that they are working on April :thumbs: "better than February"

according to what she said we are not out of the processing time since the VSC is working on April filers...she stated that if they were working on May filers now, then we can request(Out of processing time request), which makes sense..

she did ask if im in the Military, and I'm not.

Anybody have any thoughts on whether there is/will be a general "slow down" in processing during the rest of November and through New Years? I know that most businesses suffer from decreased productivity during the Thanksgiving to New Years time frame due to the actual holiday days off AND as it is quite often the time that workers take vacations (e.g. this week (Thanksgiving week) and week of Christmas, New Years week, etc). On top of all this, it is just generally a period of lower motivation/urgency for when people actually ARE working.

My feeling is, we will see very little movement (like 50% of what what we would see during a "normal" time) on processing for the next 5 to 6 weeks.

Thoughts?

i'll try to explain... here is the deal... its government hon... overwhelming "take-er-time", "who-cares" attitude... job security.... "nobody-is-going-to-fire-you-anyways" attitude... and typically they work hard... i mean hardly... i mean hard... anyhow... so... now take a wild guess what will be the work pace during a holiday season...

Adding abe 1988 to VSC list I checked your VJ Timeline and it says NOA date is 5/07. So I put that date
