There are missing dates and bogus info. I-751 Stats for VSC is not accurate.

Is there anyone who has administrator rights to fix bogus data?

Today's ... Currently processing date for VSC >> May 2, 2011 (which is much better guess, but still off based on data VJ has)

Can't hurt to try! So frustrating though, as we booked flights to visit Honduras next month, thinking all this would be straightened out by then. It's always hard enough to get back into the states without an expired green card/extension letter, so I'm expecting even more fun this time...

Hi M ! So true...i havent organized any trips just yet coz i had a feeling VSC would be so slow. I pushed back our trip to Australia till next year just to be sure.

Im def going to call USCIS when i get to my 6 month date...though im also wondering if contacting our congressman instead would be an idea? You can get them involved if USCIS is outside of processing time... or i can just be patient....lol

Is there anyone who has administrator rights to fix bogus data?

i started a thread (though it was in the 'board changes' forum, not here) and PMed a mod, but no progress yet. maybe someone else could chime in/PM a mod?

it would be nice to have more accurate data to reference.

it's not a bad idea to double check your own VJ timeline to be sure there are no mistakes.

I think we'll probably be ok since in both our situations, getting back into the US will be the tricky part and at least the paperwork is legit and US officials can verify that. When we traveled to Canada a few months ago though, the airline officials refused to issue Enrique's boarding pass until I showed them some paperwork I printed up about his eligibility since their computer was telling them he didn't have the right documents. It's annoying that sometimes it doesn't seem to matter that you have the paperwork all in order, if that paperwork isn't what they're used to seeing. Anyhow, hopefully we'll all be set well before April so you guys won't have to worry...crossing fingers for everyone!

traveling with the extension letter is LEGAL. traveling with the extension letter AND supporting documentation is even better. i dont think anyone should be intimidated in to NOT traveling because of fears of being hassled at the border. we are (or our spouses are) legal permanent residents and we have paid our dues.

(i know that in theory this sounds great and that in practice it might not feel so great, but it is our right to travel to and from the states. the same way that the gov't has the right to scrutinize our comings and goings. but as VJers we are fairly well-educated and have the advantage!)

Well said! However, I will add my 2 cents, you may have not considered or encountered ...

Sometime, it depends where you are travelling To/From and with which passport (certain countries passport holders are going to get favorable treatment as compare to others, same is true for certain places you are travelling to or from). This statement is based on my experiences, and not very good ones

i have the luxury of dealing us us-uk travel mostly, and my husband and i have the 'privilege' of white skin and 'pronounceable' names. but those facts are what make me feel that, according to the tenets of the founding documents of the united states of america, there are common rights. i dont want to have a different experience of travel because i fit a certain profile.

alas, i am aware that not everyone it treated the same.

information is a weapon. arm yourselves!

I'm aware that it's legal -- we wouldn't have dared leave the country if we weren't quite sure that we had every right to! I only mention our issues because we were overly paranoid and brought totally unnecessary documentation for worst-case-scenario situations, and we turned out to need every piece of it to convince an official (who flatly told us there was no way we were getting on a plane that day and that we needed to leave) to let us move on with our trip. My intention was definitely not to scare people, but like you said, providing supporting documentation is a good idea, even if you shouldn't have to. I think most of us develop a little healthy paranoia in this process (send the extra docs to the USCIS, make 3 copies of your petition, etc) and this is another case where it doesn't hurt to over-prepare.

Again, I hope I didn't give the impression that I don't think people should exercise their legal rights if they choose to; I only meant that we try to plan our more flexible international travel for when there's as little potential for misunderstanding as possible. As it is, we are consistently detained 6-8 hours at US customs every time we come home (thanks to E's super common name, his identity has to be checked against thousands of criminals) and we understand the need for that, but if we can avoid traveling internationally while our documentation is anything less than typical, we'll do it. Looks like we won't have the GC in time for our December trip, but that's ok -- it'll be fine, just wasn't quite what we were hoping for.

mary: i don't think you are overly paranoid. you are reacting to the reality of traveling for you and e. (6-8 hours? that's obnoxious!)i think it's really good to share your experiences here. i have to say i would probably be feeling the same way as you if my husband and i were traveling for the holidays.

on a side note: i met a couple of people last night who had worked for USCIS in the past. (i live 30 minutes away from the welden street, st albans VSC location) actually, one is a good friend. he processed i-130s (not in their entirety but the initial handling). it was a good reminder that the people processing our files are PEOPLE. i do think about that because there is a lot of whinging about the slowness of the VSC for the i-751, and i, being a positive thinker, always feel bad for the bad rap the staff gets.
