just received my new card today and it looks diffrent compared to the older one.please update my status.praying for the rest of you.

P.S. to file the N400 does it have to be 3 years since i became permanent resident or 3 years marriage?

great, how is it different?

1. It's green!

2. Photo is in black and white, not colour.

3. Fingerprint is smaller.

4. Your date of birth and sex are embossed on one side.

5. It has your signature underneath the photo.

6. The text is easier to read.

7. There aren't those three lines of text at the bottom of the card.

I haven't been on here for a while. Noticed that we're almost in November and since I'm a May 2011 filer, I was starting to get the jitters. So I thought I'd check VJ to see if any other May filers had gotten their GC's... I guess we're all on the same boat with the Vermont SC. That calms my nerves a little.. lol

The big question once I get the GC is (drum roll)...... "Do I want to be an American citizen?? Or stay a green card holding Canadian?" There are Pro's and Con's (primarily cross-border tax reasons) but I guess this is for another part of the forum, eh?

I thought about scanning mine in... but my photo is not nearly as good as that! :lol:

On the plus side, it's a hell of a lot better than my K-1 visa photo was. I was so glad when I had to renew my passport. ;)

I think the wait is 1-3 months from now, seeing that they're approving Feb filers.. :whistle:

- NOA receipt date 05/09/11

- Check cashed 05/12/11

- Biometrics letter in the mail 06/02/11

- Biometrics appointment 06/17/11

- Approved 01/27/12

Just a quick update :) I received my new green card yesterday on 10/15. The approval letter also arrived yesterday.

Card production 10/11

Card production email sent 10/12 (I got their email the next day of card production for some reason)

Approval email 10/14

Approval letter & green card arrived 10/15

I wish everyone who's still waiting a speedy approval!

Removing of Conditions

May 9, 2011 - October 4, 2011 (approval on September 28th)

Naturalization

July 19, 2014 - N400 packet sent out

July 21, 2014 - N400 packet delivered

July 23, 2014 - received email/text that I-797 is issued

July 26, 2014 - received I-797 in mail

August 11, 2014 - received the Biometrics notification

August 14, 2014 - biometrics walk-in (original date August 20)

August 18, 2014 - in line for interview scheduling

September 9, 2014 - yellow letter is received (letter is issued September 3)

November 3, 2014 - interview notice is issued (email/text alert)

November 10, 2014 - interview notice received with the interview date of December 11, 2014.

November 10, 2014 - request to reschedule mailed out

December 5, 2014 - interview notice is sent out (email/text alert)

December 11, 2014 - received an interview letter in mail

January 10, 2015 - interview on Saturday at 7am

January 26, 2015 - sent the requested documentation

February 26, 2015 - oath letter is issued (email/text alert)
