Out of curiosity, when I entered my case number provided by the biometric appointment letter on the USCIS My Case Status, it shows ----

"On June 1, 2011, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283..."

I clearly remember that I used form I-751. ICRI89, is it another term they use for PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS?

Please advise. Thanks!

A little googling makes it look like they are the same form -- I don't have our paperwork handy (at work) but this thread makes it seem like it's expected/normal. Hope that helps!

We got an email as an answer to our Service Request concerning not getting a biometrics appointment letter within 30 days. The response was:

"The process for fingerprint appointment scheduling has been requested. Applicants will be mailed appointment notices when the ASC in their area has appointments available."

So we are still waiting for the letter

Gave an early walk-in for biometrics a try in Portland, OR today. No dice but there was a somewhat happy ending.

Getting to Portland is a 4 hour round trip for me. Today we went to pick up my Mother in Law from the airport so I figured as I'm up there we'll give it a try. I explained the situation and they were sympathetic and tried to help me out, but said they really can't fit me in today. They said I could sit and wait (I got there at 9am) but I could end up sitting there until 3pm before they tell me that they can't fit me in.

I said that I would be back in Portland on the 8th July to take my Mother in Law back to the airport and if they can fit me in on that day (original appointment was 11th July which would have been a real pain). They said they'd put me in for that day and wrote a new appointment date and time on my letter and signed it.

So, a mixed bag. I didn't get the early biometrics when I went in, but I managed to schedule a far more convenient day. It was definitely worth popping in.

I'm just checking in!

My bio appointment went pretty well. I drove 4 hours ahead of schedule and got stuck in traffic for an hour. Still, I was REALLY early but they took me in and I was done in 10 minutes. Pretty easy ordeal.

QUESTIONS:

:help: My MrSki never did file a change of address when we moved from Florida. I did mine TWICE (online and mail). Should we file now?

:help: We are moving in 4 weeks: we're building a house and Woohoo! it's ready! but do we file again for that change of address?

Thank you all!

Happy 4th of July!!!!!

Still no Bio appointment for me, over 6 weeks now and very frustrating. I guess the Orlando office must be real busy :-( ???

Did you try calling the NCSC? Deidre and I got our appointments pretty much exactly two days after we both called, even though we filed at different times.

looking at the January filers time line;

still more than half of the January filers have not been approved yet so I am guessing we will see the first round of May approvals in mid November or mid December.

pretty long wait..

yeah i agree! I think now that ive completed the Bio, I can relax till the end of the year. I'll only freak out if I receive an RFE, but you never know if and when that will come, so no point in stressing now!

Kinda wish hubby was in the military coz i see their approvals are sooooo much faster!! Either that, or I wish the IO who is handling my case is either really new and approves immediately (and skips a few steps due to newbie ignorance) or a Pro at this and is a really really fast processor!! hahaha :bonk:

Oh well... back to the waiting game! It will be a nice xmas present though!!
