So not that I am worried but can anyone tell me what the medical exam is? Do they take blood tests? and if so what for? Or is it like a high school physical where they look you up and down and hit you in the knees a few times? lol. Really Im just curious but couldnt find any answers Thx in advance!

Yes there is blood tests. They do drug tests.

There is xray / TB skin tests.

There is a physical check up there is a questioning, there is a vaccination check and if you are missing any they have to give them to you.

Its an medical exam to see if you are mentally and physically healthy. That you are not going to spread disease to Americans/other people.

When I went to my medical exam, I had to fill out a form (I-693) in the waiting area. That form will be the signed and sealed by the doctor. They asked if I have my Vaccination/Immunization Record with me. Whatever shots that I was missing or that was not up to date, they had to give it to me (some clinics might charge you extra for this). I am not afraid of needles so it was not a problem for me. ^_^ They will also give you a Tuberculosis Skin test. http://www.cdc.gov/tb/publications/factsheets/testing/skintesting.htm If it turns out positive, they will ask you to have a chest x-ray. If it is negative, then your fine. They also do a blood test to see if you have any contagious disease/s. I was not asked to change into scrubs/ hospital robes. In my experience, when everything was done, the clinic gave me 2 sealed envelopes with the signed form I-693 inside. You can open the one that says "copy" on it. The other one that says "For USCIS only", do not open that because if the USCIS sees that it was opened they will not accept it. The one thats "for USCIS only", you will submit that together with your I-485. Good luck!

Here's my review: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/206016-australian-beneficiaries-packet-3-to-interview-date/page__view__findpost__p__3129057 Every country is different and many experiences are different.

Some people are asked to strip to bra and undies (I wasn't). Some people have their genetalia looked at (mine wasn't). In Aus we have an x-ray to check for TB and not a skin test. In Aus vaccinations are required to get the K1 visa, some countries don't require vaccinations to get the K1.

The information that Mr.Tee provided is really great. The YouTube video and the website for the Consultorios de Visa are great sources of information. However, what is reported in the videos and the website and the real experience of the place are two very different things. Make sure to advise your fiance to pack LOTS of patience for that day and a good book to read. The waiting is long and tedious, but it is a needed part of the process. Also, make sure that your fiance takes some extra cash in case he need some additional vaccinations.

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.
