I write to be informed by anyone who had petitioned at Johannesburg Dept. of Homeland Security on how long does their Notice of Approval take.I have secured all the initial documentary requirements to lodge the said petition but my concern is to know from your experience how long will the approval take.

You are interviewed on the spot and documents reviewed and you are approved or not approved at the time of filing - based on our experience in Dhahran and another experience in India. You just have to wait on background checks and a Packet III after that. They told the couple in India 4 weeks, told us 6 weeks, and another couple in Abu Dhabi took 4 weeks for their Packet III to arrive.

We got a receipt but are not expecting an NOA of approval, only the Packet III.
