Folks.

My interview is coming... 20MAR

My question is:

My mother is USA citizen but she is in brazil right now.

I saw that she must have her domicile at USA. What does it means?

I know that she must live there.

Is a red flag when I tell the consul about this issue?

Her intention is to come back when I go to USA.

I want to put myself as my own agent.i dont know what addres will i put. Because as of now im working abroad. Is it ok to use my address abroad or much better to use my home address in my country? And how long it will take to get my medical schedule? Thanks... hoping for your help.

Welcome Christinejoyce,

Congrats, ur not too far from the coast now. I am glad to see someone here who have recvd Choice of Agent. It would be highly appreciated if u could share ur details with us like ur PD and when did u recvd Choice of Agent Form??

1. NVC asked you to fill DS-261 online, all u need ur NVC case number with u, which u must be having past many years. Moreover, the invoice no. which will be generated when ur petitioner paid fees to them.

2. Dnt be confused, put ur current address if you dnt wish to appoint any attorney on ur behalf.

3. You need to write it down ur current address (wherever ur living right now) because later everyone has to mention all the addresses in the form with police clearances where the applicant lived more than 6 months.

4. Your medical will be scheduled right before ur interview date, generally it takes place 2-3 weeks before the interview date.

Hope this helps. Congrats once again.

Do you have any idea how long it will take (approximately how many months) until i get my schedule date for medical? After filling up the ds-261 whats next? Do you have a flowchat for this procedure.

Hi christinejoyce.

I would recommend that you list an agent on your DS 261 (choice of agenct) who is based in the US. It will be more effecient and effective means of communication from NVC. When listing an agent on your form, just include the email address of your agent as well as yours. After completing the form online, it will take about 10days for NVC to confirm your registration. and future correspondence from NVC will be sent to you and your choice of agent.

By the way, your category is FB1 (unmarried son/daughter of US Citizen over 21) or F1 student visa? I would suggest to review the visa bulletin for you to get an idea as to when your PD will become current. Kindly check the link below;
