@ javisa kid...Re phones,I left mine on the outside with one of the guys. They seem to have a pretty organized system where they have 2 tickets, one ticket is placed in a plastic bag containing your items and the other you keep in order to retrieve your stuff when the interview is done(the tickets have serial numbers which ensures no one is given the wrong bag,it also has the name and tele # of the person with whom you are leaving your items).

Anyway, having said that I took the oldest/least expensive phone I had just in case of any misfortune (hint, hint) but I had no trouble. Anyway,I gave the guy $300.00

Now about the Immunization Rec. mine has the same (history incomplete, eligible for waiver ....) dont think its anything to be worried about because the doctor advised the vaccines course could be completed overseas if you are leaving before the next dosage becomes due.I still have not gone to get the other shot (dont think its going to happen either since the time frame was 4-8wks after the 1st,oh well. Yea,anyway I dont think that Immigration will be asking to see my Immunization Rec.

Much thanks for your detailed answer, puppyluv. So I'll leave my phone with the folks outside. I'm gonna just take a cheap phone (probably worth less than the $300 they'll charge lol).

Also, thanks for the relief in learning that the incomplete vaccine history bit ought not to play a problem. Following in your footsteps on Monday morning, my friend.

I've realised that there are still many folks who haven't heard of the VJ site, let alone our little F1 crew. I have a friend with 2008 PD but he isn't following up on anything with any forums. He doesn't even know what a visa bulletin is. Lol. I've told him about visa journey though. I hope he'll join and let's keep hope that more folks will learn about our crew and join us so that we can continue to strengthen our ability to share in each other's journey.

javisakid, can you believe the wait is finally coming to an end??

Ok,so try to keep calm, have a great interview,

all the best.

Thanks. It's 5 am, I just woke up. My taxi comes at 6. I double and triple checked my docs. All I don't have is the no - impediment and I'm hoping they won't ask for it. I'm hearing the "phone check" is now $500 so I'll leave the phone at home and "beg a call" after the interview. Lol.

My heart is racing, but everything has been smooth up to here so (knock on wood) I hope it continues the same. It's out of my hands after that.

Thanks to every single one of you guys for your mental support. It really helps to know other people know and experienced what I'm feeling.

Talk to you guys later.

Hey Guys,

My PD is Nov 2008. All what I recieved was aletter from USCIS saying they approved my I-130, and a leeter from NVC saying they recieved my case, and they assigned a case number to it.

I am pretty nervous cause my OPT will wrap up next summer and I can not get any sponsership so far. I have no clue on my next steps.

Mine is Dec 08, we are too close but i think we wont be eligible before Oct 2015 on the basis of current movements. You should find a way to be there on non-immigrant status but just for a year then you will be through ...

I have seen many 2007 people received COAs during booming days in year 2010. Can anyone give us the exact date or month of 2007 when the last applicant gt approached for consular processing.

Anybody??

So, I'm back from the interview. It was shorter than I thought it would be.

My appointment was at 7. I got there at 6:45 and I was the first one who was called to the window. "Good/bad," I wondered. You know the usual. One window where they collected the documents: passport, photo, medical and, police record. They did not ask me for the no-impediment document but I had to sign two copies of something saying I promise not to get married before I enter the states. They asked me who my petitioner was and then I went to sit again to wait. (The lady was beautiful and, trying to be conversational, I asked her for her name but she says "for security reasons I can't tell you." Ouch!)

An hour after, at exactly 8, the consular officers came to the counters and I was called first again. I was put under oath and had to swear to tell the truth. I was slightly nervous during the interview because there was an issue with the spelling of my mother's name on the marriage certificate which documented why her surname is now different from what was on my birth certificate.

He kept typing at the computer and glancing at the screen, which kept making me curious about what he was seeing, doing and thinking. I then signed the last part of the DS-230. He was about to give me another document to sign, which said that within 90 days of being in the states, I needed to register for selective service (the army) if I'm between 18 and 25, then I said "But I'm now 26," and he took the documents back and did more intense computer typing and eventually put a red stroke through the two forms. (I don't like red strokes through things.)

More chit chat with his colleagues off the mic and I couldn't hear what they were saying. It felt like I was being left out of some necessary conversation that I really should have been hearing about. He asked me what countries I've been to,the longest I've been in the US, whether I'd ever been arrested or been to court. After all the stuff about the spelling of my mom's name, and the selective service stuff, he forgot to ask me for the updated tax documents, though they were right before his face. He said nothing, so I kept my mouth shut. Didn't want to open another can of worms.

Then he used a stamp cancelled my precious tourist visa (OMG!), asked me if I was registered with DHL and gave me a little green IV ticket, I suppose for getting the package from DHL when it's ready.

Then he announced: "do not make any travel plans. If you receive a package, it may be two weeks or significantly longer." #######? Is this something standard they tell everyone?

I hope it's possible I might get it back before the end of the week, which would mean I'd get to leave by this weekend. I already miss my passport.

So there. It's now out of my hands and it's now the waiting game again, the part I dislike. My Jamaican friends, how long did it take you to get your package? I've chosen to pick it up at Dhl instead of having it delivered. I want it directly in my hands and no one else's. God knows where it could possibly end up!

PS: I hope they don't call me to ask me to come back to give in the tax documents. It wasn't my fault after all.

The hustlers outside the embassy wanted to charge me $500 for the 25 seconds I spent calling my taxi driver. I was like don't try to extort me in front of these police officers. I gave the woman $100 and told her to enjoy her day.
