I'll go back to finding ways to make one month go by quickly. Any suggestions anyone?

You're going to be starting a "new life" in the US. Potentially, if you start a family, your descendants will only or mainly know the US. Why don't you start a project of noting your family and life history in JA? Start a family tree. Visit, take pictures and write about places that have special meaning to you. In the years to come you can have physical evidence for the memories of your former home.

True, but have their lives really been any better for it? Yes, they've been IN America, but they haven't been able to move freely or go back home to visit friends and family, for wedding and funerals

"Descendants" sounds very scary to me. Perhaps "future friends and colleagues" might be a good replacement.

But what a cool idea! It might even involve traveling around and going to the beaches, and places I've never been before. (I was just saying to someone how incredibly beautiful Portland is.) I'm not yet in Jamaica, but that'll be a great final adventure to do just before my interview.

You win the idea war.

So, two weeks movement as expected. Well, good to see the word OCT in there, finally. Good things to look forward to. I'll definitely let you guys know when my letter arrives. You won't need to even log in, you'll hear me screaming it from wherever you are.

It would have been useful for us all if they gave an outlook of the upcoming months. Eh, well.

Now, the rest of you...your thoughts!

Thank you javisakid! My POE was perfect. I arrived, was direct to the visitors line and went to the custom officer at my turn. I was asked for my passport and my brown package, then my passport was scan. The officer then told me to follow her, she took me into a room where other officers were and told me to have a seat, other people were also waiting. My name was called and I was asked to sign my name twice and then they took my finger prints, gave me back my passport and told me that was it, I can go pickup my luggage and that was all. My advice is there is no need to be nervous.

Javisakid, sorry I didn't answer all you questions. I haven't open an account as yet because I went to another state for a week so am now in the process of getting my social and other stuff. Just taking it step by step.

I am very proud of my heritage and my accent, that is what makes me who I am, no matter where in the world I am. A dat mi seh! Lol!
