I've never really paid much attention to the other categories so went to the Visa bulletin site to check this.

F2B is currently around 7 months behind F1.

I'm not sure if I'm just being thick, or am missing something...

F1 category has an allocation of 23,400 visas per year

F2B category has an allocation of 26,266 (23% of 114,200)

Why wouldn't petitions from USC receive the higher allocation of visa's?? huh2.gif

Can someone please tell me if I'm looking at this wrong as I'm starting to feel p'd off!!

My opinion is that the allocations are based on a period from long ago where the state of things didn't really require many visas for the adult children of US citizens (for whatever reason), and the allocations are from the Immigration Act of 1965 -- 1965!!!!!. They clearly don't know that things have changed from then.

It's very truly unfair, though, I feel.

I don't want to jump the gun, but I think by the end of this week, if no one with a PD later than 1OCT2006 receives a letter, it's would be safe to call the next bulletin as moving a whoppingly but familiarly disappointing two weeks.

I also just realized that F2B is processing people from February 2006 and is moving really fast. Im guessing its impossible for F2B to catch up with F1.

I have this wild thought that they are trying to eventually make F1 and F2B have the same cutoff date. I think that in that new proposed law they want to make both, F1 and F2B, similar to immediate relatives or something like that. But again, that's just a wild guess.

Hopefully it will move more than that! Last bulletin it only moved two weeks, but they also started sending letters very late. This time they started early and that's often a good sign.

You're probably right but that's a really rubbish policy. Who can I complain to??!!

I have realized that the more you try to understand the process is the more confusing it is.

Ain't that the truth!

That would also be rubbish. You'd think they'd want to encourage more PR's to naturalize, by giving priority to USC.

Ugh, I'm just venting because I'm tired of the waiting already ranting33va.gif . I feel like my life is on hold while I'm going through this process. I don't want to commit to anything (or anyone!) because I don't know how long I'll be around. I know it's the same for most everyone, but knowing that doesn't make it any easier!

With one paragraph, you've nicely summarised how I feel about the last seven years of my life. A little comfort, at least, to know someone else knows and shares exactly how I've been feeling.

Also: "rubbish" is so typical Brit-speak, of course. I love it!

Haha. I think "rubbish" is a fantastic word! Once I'm in the US I can teach the 'Mericans some more descriptive words; like "pants" and, my favourite, "b.o.l.l.o.c.k.s"

I could also attempt to teach them how to spell correctly in English; favoUrite; coloUr, etc, but that's probably a lost cause now. laughing.gif

Innit tho! You can get knackered, bladdered or plastered down the pub but everything will be hunky dory, right as rain geeza, as long as you can get a kebab on the way home.

Let's deal...I'll see your kebab, and raise you a full JA brekkie; ackee,salt-fish, fried plantain, breadfruit...the works! OMG, now I'm hungry!!

DEAL. I hope you like it with a nice sprinkling of black pepper. Spice is necessary. I'll give you some boiled dumplings and bananas too, as bonus.

Black pepper is too tame; chop up some scotch bonnet and we'll talk. Yeah, I know my stuff! I may be British my my roots are from JA!

I don't do all that hard food though...boiled dumplings and green banana are too stodgy for me...you can keep them!
