I sent notarized copies only, but after the interview they return all your original documents.

I recently found some errors on my birth cert and I am in the process of rectifying it. I sent one of the origionals having the error to the embassy. I hope by taking in the corrected Birth Cert that there will be no delays.

Hi guys questions for all that are able to answer.

Did anyone send original documents to Nvc prior to case being completed?

Did you guys get back your original documents on interview date, eg:birth cert ?

I did not submit any originals only certified copies of items like birth paper etc. the only originals I submitted were the police certificates.

I had my interview today and my visa was approved! I got to the Consulate around 6am and one hour later i got inside the building and was told to fill out two papers and then put my documents in order. Thirty minutes later I was called to the window where a woman checked all the documents I submitted and the ones I was asked to bring along, everything went well, she took my fingerprints and told me to wait for my turn for the interview, which took around thirty minutes too. The consul was a young woman, very nice and polite, asked a few questions about my father and then told me my visa was approved. I had to go to the post office pay the courier fee and that's all!

Congrats all the best for the future in your new home land.

West your journey is finally over wow. I wish you all the best for the future.

They review all the forms and documents you sent in front of you, so just take the correct birth cert. with you and ask them to replace the old one. If it's original, I don't think there'll be a problem.

I had done my interview. I was asked the usual questions,

- who was your petitioner

- what did your petitioner do to make a living

- what did you do for a living

- did you intend to work in United States and in what area

- did you ever stay more than 6 months elsewhere after you turned 16

- did you ever get married and give birth to a child

One essential reminder to all people sitting for an interview soon. BRING A FEW PICTURES YOU HAD TAKEN TOGETHER WITH YOUR PETITIONER. When my name was called, the first question I was asked, who was that old lady in these pictures.

Second remark I would like to make, LAND U.S. WITHIN 6 MONTHS YOU DID YOUR HEALTH CHECK (not 6 months you got your immigration visa).

It seems like the pictures have become a mandate nowadays. But, what would I do? I never click any with my father bcoz we hardly meet each other in past 6-7 years. Any suggestions??

Hi Puru144, what about email exchanges / phone bills? Do you think these papers could be sufficient proof?

Other people in this Forum, what do you suggest please? Puru does not have recent pictures of him & his petitioner taken together.
