F1 case complete and waiting for visa # availability

Now I'm getting nervous that somehow next bulletin, if I'm supposed to be current, I'll just mysteriously not get an interview at all.

Hi West I think you missed one step.

I was reviewing my interview letter and in the section 'How to Prepare for the Visa Interview' I notice a reference to url: http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4354.html

In the Interview Preparation - embassy guidelines: this can be found at url: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

1) You need to select Kng-Kingston from the drop down box provided.

2) Click the US Embassy/Consulate Specific Information button.

3) Go to page 3 and you will notice it speaks to you registering for a free DHL courier service to return you passport.

4) After registering you should print the confirmation page and take it with you to the interview.

This is required for people who have interviews on and after March 18, 2013.

Wow this is crazyness my PD is august!! I know that you should know the process inside and out but I have to ask. Was you case completed?

Maybe the case completion date matters? My case was completed in March 2013 (a bit late because of some missing docs.).

Or different NVC service center matters? The IL is sent by NVC, not embassy, why they skip some PD dates? maybe different NVC center has different processing time?

Hey! If this is of any consolation, I still haven't heard from my local embassy as yet. I kept checking the post office and nothing and I also email and all I got was an autoresponse email that said they will contact me soon. So just wait, you will hear something soon.

I agree,In my case I think it could have something to do with the Service Center(NVC) definitely not the date.

To get the physical packet 4 from kingston embassy through the post office but I already printed it from my email. I dont worry about the post, I already have it and everything is set.

PS: I was informed that I should check the post office. I think I read somewhere that either NVC or our local embassy schedule the interview oppointment, not both! So not completely sure, just going by what I was told from a recent applicant who has been approved and is now in the US
