Also, we will need to have someone handle the Watch List after Nevermindvz is gone. I can do for a little bit, but my journey will be over soon too. Does anyone who'll be sticking around for a while want to help?

I cannot believe the end is getting closer! I don't want to get my hopes too high yet though. I will also be around here after I get current (whenever that happens). FINGERS CROSSED!

As u said above about ur FIANCE. Dude, can an F1 applicant get engaged before greencard?? Need some advice over it bcoz I am facing real tough situation with my gf and her family insisting for marriage ... sad.png

Puru, you can get engaged but you CANNOT get married. If you get married, you will move from F1 to F3, which is a much longer wait!

at least, they will sit quite for a while until this pain will be over soon, please people give your advice over ti with some relevant evidence.

Thanks and all the best for ur medical ... :)

Hey Puru44 this is my plan. I got engaged because I love her and I wanted her to see that I was serious about the relationship.

I know that I can't marry her right now because I would be placed in a different category adding years to the wait. We will be married after I get my green card in my hand.

The good news for us is that in July visa bulletin they said that they are going to make the category for a wife of a green card holder current between now and October 2013. If they hold true then she could be with you in the states in a matter of months after you marry and apply for her.

F1junkie don't jump so soon yes the spouse of a greencard holder should be current soon but I think that u have to wait a year when u get ur tax returns etc before u can submit an application for your spouse... I been trying to find out the info but no luck yet... Also I am not sure how long u have to wait after I get ur greencard to marry... Some more research for us to do

We should also take the following to interview:

2) Tax returns

3) New photos

4) Non-impediment cert

5) All issued passport.

F1 I wasnt aware of the Certificate of No-Impediment. Can you confirm that one?

You can find it in this document, at the end of page 2. http://travel.state.gov/pdf/medical/KNG-MED-ENGL-0001-1302.pdf

I'm not sure whether it's mandatory, because other members here weren't asked for it during their interview. But, my view is, after waiting so long, it's better to have documents even if they end up not asking for it, rather than not having it and risk delaying your case.

Priority Date: 10/5/2006

Medical Completed: 11/4/2013

Interview Completed: 11/18/2013

CEAC Status -- ISSUED -- 11/19/2013

VISA IN HAND -- 11/21/2013

Well I applied for mine today. I am not taking any chances. It was painful spending all that money to get it but I would rather lose the money than cause a delay on my interview process, incase they ask for it and I dont have one.

Hmmm... I wonder. It's very important for me to find that out. Thanks GraceA for your input.
