I totally agree. But I don't have much faith that this will do much to change it. Because the definition of the relationship and of the categories is established by legislation and we've all already seen how unwilling American politicians are to make any real substantive change where immigration is concerned, let alone a change which makes it EASIER for immigration to happen.

It's a very good initiative, though.

Even though I think this petition won't do anything much to change F1 to immediately relative, I just found it was very interesting. From looking at pdf file on Visa Bulletin website, I was not sure if the early 1990s F1 was categorized as immediately relative because from 1990 to 1996 the cutoff dates was always current. This was just my observations, nothing much!! Hope cutoff date for June Visa Bulletin moves at least 1 month.

Just an update on my sister case. Well, they just did the medical exam and they charged them twice the money that we were expecting. Has anyone experienced that? According the instructions in the US consulate in DR webpage, there was an expecific amount. This is not fair to us.
