Good morning All,

It is true that now there is a fee to receive the green card, once you enter the country(USA)?

Thanks.

hey Tania2013 yes that is true. But you pay it before you go to the US or you have up to a year to pay it after you have entered the US.. If it is not paid you will NOT receive a greencard!

It is $165 USD for all the persons being petitioned for. I am pasting a link below for you to read about it for yourself. You will get the instructions on the day of your interview for making the payments.

Hello Guys,

We have problem. I just spoke with my sister in the Dominican Republic and she hasn't received her interview letter yet. She is checking with the post office and they told her that they haven't received anything yet. We received both letters here in the states, I received the email i/l on 3/29/13 and the regular mail on 4/9/13. Do you guys think that we should contact the National Visa Center. This is very weird. Please advise. Thanks.

You need not to contact the NVC... All you have to do is FedEx or DHL the inteview letter you got to your sister so she can continue the process.. That's all! That is a very common problem with IL and the post because it is not always delivered to the recipient in their country so NVC has realized this problem and hence that is why they hav started to ask for alternate USA mailingaddresses... No need for NVC... just photo copy the letter you got and fedex or dhl the original to ur sister! All the best

Or simply forward the email copy to your sisters's email if she has one..

Believe mr that is NOT a problem k just send your sister a copy as soon as you can because she probably will need them for her medical...

Tania2013,

Just forward the NVC email that contains the Interview Letter to your sister. In my situation, my brother email was used as a beneficiary email address. All the correspondences from NVC emailed to the petitioner (Agent) were also copied to my brother's email. Did you make copies of all the documents sent to the NVC? If so, send the package to your sister via DHL or FedEx, including the Interview Letter. She can contact the Consulate right away after receiveing the package or Interview letter.

Oh that's great since your mom is leaving with all the documents! That's why it's always better to make copies of all the documents you submitted to the USCIS and NVC.
