Have you contacted the National Visa Center yet? They are now processing applicants in 2006. I suggest you called them. Is your case completed? Give us some more information so we can know if you had send in all the relevant documents already because this is really interested.:blink:

Yea. I don't get it.

My dad's doing all the paper work and he says he has everything under control but I don't know...I think he's being passive aggressive since we don't get along. He tells me I need to be patient and I am the one overreacting.

What other info would you or anyone else need from me?

My case is not completed. the service center for me is Nebraska. Is that center not working anymore?

What number would I call for the NVC?

thanks.

My PD is July 2005.

My case was approved June 2009.

I am F1 preference group.

And so far nothing...

what gives?

Hey prvii,

When you say your case was approved, do you mean by USCIS or NVC?

Based on your last note, I'm assuming you mean its approved by USCIS but it might not be fully completed by NVC.

Just call nvc, and ask them what the status is.

This is number you can call: 603-334-0700

They will ask for your NVC case number, your petitioners DOB and yours before then help you out.

"To reach the National Visa Center (Immigrant visa inquiries, including assistance regarding the new DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa Application) call: 603-334-0700 (7:00 am EST to 12:00 pm EST) or e-mail: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. "

Good luck.

This discussion will go on at least for rest of the year if not next year.

By creating these so all Job related GC with free pass for their small kids and spouse,.... is basically to increase the demand for Homes, Cars, Insurance of all kind ........ you name it, and cash in.

Who is gonna cash in, well Banks, Investment Banks, Equity firms like Black Rock, BlackStone,.... which bought tousand and tousand of forclosed homes across the country where normal people could not afford the high prices and taxes no more. Not to mentioned the commercial properties, which sit there empty.

The country has at least 8% (+ few extra percent, im not gonna get into that), and they want to bring in people based on Work Visa?

F1Junkie, I would not worry. At least for the rest of this year. After that, well god knows.

___________

I don't think that it would be implemented this year either. I think that it would be an unpopular move by the gang of 8 to try to pass a bill like that.

Thanks for sharing you opinion PatientMan

No its not the same. If your USCIS case is approved then you should have received a NVC case number.

Considering you mentioned that your father and you dont get along well, maybe that is your answer to why you dont have your NVC case approved.

Best of luck to you. Hope you two resolve your issues and you get your GC, if that is what you want.

How would the NVC center know if I don't get along with my dad? Do they have spy microphones? Or did my dad just decided to screw me over and tossed away the NVC case approved?

Is the case number one that starts with "wac"? Or is it a different one.

I do want my GC but my dad's abusive and is using this GC business as a way to "one up" me. So he can play god. How messed up is that?

I don't know...

Did you already go through the process of submitting a Choice of Agent form, an Affidavit of Support and a DS-230 visa application? What correspondence have you had with the NVC?

There are sometimes two different case numbers, depending on which institution is handling your documents. At the USCIS level, there would be a case number assigned beginning with EAC. When the case has been approved and transferred to the NVC, you would have a different case number that would begin with a 3-digit letter sequence, which represents the embassy eventually responsible for handling your visa. For example, mine is KNG for the US embassy in Kingston, Jamaica.

Choice of Agent = Not sure what that is. :(

Affidavit of support = I was informed by my dad that he signed one and even had my brother and wife co sign to insure fiscal security.

DS-230 visa application = I don't know what that is. :(

I haven't had any correspondence at all because as I said in previous posts, my dad's doing all of the paper work because he has all the info and won't even keep me in the loop.

I am pretty sure I don't have a NVC case number or at least my dad has not informed of this number. The wac number I mentioned is obiovusly not it. I am petitioning as a French citizen so it should be "fra"

PS: thanks for replying.

Hi all, and congrats to those who have recently been granted their GC and thanks a million for sharing your experiences!!! It's so helpful to hear a firsthand account. I'm emigrating from Canada and NVC handles all of my paperwork and forwards it to the embassy for me. Wondering if I should get new docs as well....

I will DEFINITELY update when I get the letter. I can't believe it may really come in 2 weeks after 7 long years of waiting!!!

My interview would be in Montreal and I heard they are severely backed up. Does anyone have any experience with the Montreal, Canada office? Wonder if they are delayed if my IL will be delayed as well.

I didnt mean NVC is checking on you. I was being polite earlier and didnt want to tell you that your Dad is screwing with you.

If what he says about affidavit of Support (together with your Brother) is true, that means you already have a NVC case number. Its just that your dad hasnt given it to you.

I believe there is a way to get your NVC number, so just dont remember it what the number it was that I called and got it (before I got the email), since its been few years.

As soon as I remember it I will let you know.

Maybe others here have other suggestions. Either way, you should know that you dont have any power over the situation what so ever. If your dad is the sponsor, then he is pulling all the strings. Sorry.

Maybe if you have a better relationship with your brother, then you can ask him about the situation and maybe even the NVC number.

That's true I don't have any power over this but meanwhile in France I am doing some positive things with my life. It's just that I had goals in the US and not to mention great friends who know about my situation.

Thanks for takin the time to answer my posts. It is much appreciated.
