F1 case complete and waiting for visa # availability

I m kinda same boat...nvc asked me to get pcc from either ur embassy present in us or if u go to home country.both are same as ur passport ultimatly goes to home country for stamping....but for pcc u require proof why u want it ...so without interview letter they will not issue one...but please keep me posted as my pd will be current in next 2 to 3 months

I still haven't received my IL but that isn't stopping me from trying to have all my docs in order as the Embassy in my country is famous for sending people away with a 221(g). I've lived in the U.S. since I was 11 y/o, and they state that they want a police certificate from every country you have lived in since your 16th birthday. My previous attorney said that I didn't need to send one for the U.S. but should I get one just in case?

hey everyone!

my pd is 23 feb 2006,which will be current in april visa bulletin. Vini said i sud have my iL by beginning of March. i am trying to get my police check and medical done by then.. can anyone tell me what else i need to submit in Packet 3...i am living in Australia and if i need sumthing from my dad need to ask him to prepare now then he can send me by march.

Hi Mukunda, i had my case completed in Jan/Feb 2011. I therefore had some experience with Packet 3.

You will be asked to provide;

- passport copy (biographic data page)

- birth cert

- court records if any (providing conviction and sentence)

- photos

- police cert

I am not sure if there have been any changes since 2011. So you can treat above as reference only.

I think im around 2 VB's away and was thinking of ordering the new Police Certificate sometimes around next month, so I can have it in time if I get (I hope) the IL by end of March.

I would not worry about the ACRO, they are pretty quick to send the Certificate back. Im saying this based on last time I ordered it almost 2.5 years ago.

Only liability as you said is the Royal mail.

You still have time and Im sure you will get it by end of next week. Just remember if there is chance that you wont get the PC in time you have to reschdule atleast 3-4 days before the appointment or they will charge you extra $$.

Fingers crossed, all will go well.

Dont forget to share what happens.

BTW, when is the interview date?

I have no experience with Packet 4 or medical check up request. I think they will come when my PD becomes current.

It sounds strange, but on the other hand, it means you dont have any criminal record

Guys yesterday my father took an oath and naturalized. He gt a form but dnt knw wt it is. can anyone tell me when they give N-400?? during oath or later send through mail within a week?? and yeah wat abt the exisiting passport, when they will change it and hw long does it take??

N-400 is Form which is required to fill to become Citizen,which your dad must have filled before 3 to 6 month of his oth taking Ceremony.

When you get interview for Citizenship and if you pass..in State like Newjersy there is same day oath ceremony..or in state of california you get Oath ceremony after few months.On day of oath Ceremony he will receive Natauralization certificate which is proof of his citizenship.Now he has to apply for US passport in near by post office.(USPS).At the same time he can send Naturalization certificate and a application and document of your case no to convert your file from F2b to f1 if you are unmarried and if you are married than F3.once he receives american passport he has to surrender his indian citizenship and apply for dual citizenship..you can visit travisaoutsourcing for same....

Thnx chiku83 for ur reply. Your reply made clear many things, i dnt knw abt east coast but yeah in SF bay area they dont conduct oath ceremony on same day. It took a month to get oath date and now im clear what to send to NVC, the certificate which he gt on oath, right?

Ya it should be written Naturalization Certificate.It should be of your Petioner.Also include formal application to NVC stating that you were in F2b category with so and so priority date and now you need to upgrade to F1 ..with retaining same Priority Date.Also send copy of Letter of NVC assigned case no..Your file will be upraded from F2b to F1.
