I know most of us here in F1 will get through quicker than many but this waiting is getting old!

If you watched the US presidential debates (I did because hopefully I'll be there while the "winning" president is still in office), President Obama, when asked about immigration said about his first term in office: "The first thing we did was to streamline the legal immigration system, to reduce the backlog, make it easier, simpler and cheaper for people who are waiting in line, obeying the law to make sure that they can come here and contribute to our country...". I guess he wasn't talking about family immigration!

Hopefully we'll see some change in the coming year.

Actually it’s true. Well one of those half-true stories. Remember the big leap forward?.... that’s what they mean by “make it easier and reduce the backlog” … but what they failed to mention is the Retrogression thing that came afterward. Let´s see what happens this time around. I’m sure something is going to happen, I just hope it’s change for the best … because honestly anything may happened and It could affect waiting times in F1 category in a negative way. There are big rumors of “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” coming next year and we’ll need to see the details of that and understand how it would affect us. It also could be good news!

Yes, I hope you're right...and something good happens.

We've been hearing the words "Comphrensive Immigration Reform" for a number of years now, but still no detail. There's lots of speculation that the "reform" will include dropping some of the family categories. If this actually happens my only hope is that they're smart enough to continue the process for those that are already in line. Otherwise there'll be a LOT of unhappy people filing lawsuits and/or requesting their filing fees back! No doubt they'll have some small print disclaimer that fees paind are non refundable though!

If your case is completed and your pd falls in 2006 then your waiting time is just about over. :)

Unfortunately not...my PD is June 2008, so the waiting game will continue for a while yet.

Wow I should have asked what your pd was before making that statement. You still have a little waiting to do. But the time will fly.
