One thing to remember is that the visa availability numbers are estimates and not exact, at least according to the last fiscal year. I am trying to compare the predictions they gave last year with the actual movements (hopefully my math is ok):

October 2011 = availability in coming months: 3 to 6 weeks (21-42 days)

----> actual movement from Nov to Feb: 48 days per month on average

February 2012 = availability in coming months: 3 to 5 weeks (21-35 days)

----> actual movement from Mar to May: 43 days per month on average

May 2012 = availability in coming months: 4 to 6 weeks (28-42 days)

----> actual movement from Jun to Sep: 38 days per month on average

3-4 weeks availability sounds ok. Let's see what happens though! Good luck to all of us

excellent analysis very good view and according to your analysis you maybe be current in 7-10 months from now

GOODLUCK

Wow, we got caught up in so many things we even forgot that the bulletin didnt even come out yet. Haha!

I'm happy that they've published the predictions. But based on what we know from last year they can move faster than the predictions. They did predict four weeks movement for F1 last year but most months we actually moved 6-8 weeks, which was very good. Let's hope for the same things now. At least we have a baseline with which to predict our PD being current.

Yaa..u r right we actually forgot that they will release VB ...I thought that they would release on Friday..But they did very early ...I think is this the impact of Presidential Election...??? Coz as soon as the election was over yesterday...they immediately released the VB. I think may be it was the impact of Election that we saw slow movements from starting of this new fiscal...and now they r speeding up....

But since they have projected VB movement for coming months 3 or 4 weeks sounds good to me...I hope to see 4 to 5 weeks movement on an average .

One more thing is that the projections they make may apply for this 2nd quarter i.e. from Jan to March i guess...not sure 100% but after this quarter they may again make projections....Lets see what happens...And according to their projections i think i would be curent in Feb....

Nevermindz...Thank you for this.. i actually never understand how they get these numbers...

I am also amazed how the F2 category is so much further ahead of the F1 category. I would think that it should be better to become a citizen to file for your children over 21, as they will get through quicker . So what is the current movement of the VB depicting to us indirectly that people who are about to be naturalized as citizens... if you have filed for a child over 21 who is unmarried in the F2 category.. Dont naturalize just yet... stay as a green cared holder as your filing will come through quicker... I just think things are going the opposite way... but I am seeing movement and everything happens for a reason...

my brother's priority date is dec-01-2005 but he has not received the IL yet. :(

Hey Dec12005 he wouldnt have gotten his IL yet as they cut off at the date that is posted. So only those with dates earlier than the cut off date will have visa numbers available for them. Dont worry he will be getting his IL in the first week of December or there about.. considering the flow continues the way it has been going.. All the best... that sad face will soon be a smile in 3-4 weeks time! All the best!
