Food prices are starting to reflect it as well....

It could get a lot worse if they keep devaluing the hell out of the dollar.

The value of the dollar and gas prices are on par for what they were 3 years ago... sucks.

I heard a few weeks ago gas would be 40% higher by the end of summer. A few weeks ago it was mid-$3 range so you're looking at about $5.50 by end of summer. I'd say they're right on par with the prediction.

What I don't understand is why people didn't learn from the last fiasco. If you haven't changed your life to lessen your dependence on gas, I don't feel sorry for you.

We will DEFINITELY see $5 by summer.

My company does work with an oil company, and back in January, they were saying yep - $5 by June.

So we shall see.

($4.30 for regular here, by the way. Eeeegh!)

It was $4.15 for regular yesterday...Today it probably jumped again!

If you have a truck it is definitely over $80 to fill....A 4 door sedan with a V6 - most likely $65 or more!

I predict we will see $5 late this summer before it starts to go back down.

I think alot of people have learned but enough is enough. My husband and I car pool, I often take the bus, and we have a smaller car, however, gas is still our biggest expense. it's sickening

Dependance on gas in my case refers to driving to work. I do very little vacationing. What should I have done? Not go to work?

We need to start using our own resources to drive the down cost until alternative sources become more affordable.

I agree with your observation from the POV of people that drive gas guzzlers.

What is often forgotten is that gas guzzlers have a purpose.

I drive a gas guzzler.

How can gas be a bigger expense than say, food, shelter, entertainment, etc.?

Find a job closer to home or move closer to work. Buy a more fuel efficient car. Ride a bike. Seek alternate forms of transportation. Carpool.
