Where exactly do you see the "touch" on the USCIS site?

I learned after sending my packet that the letter of intent should bear an original signature, so my fiancee sent me three signed copies, just in case. I sent one certified mail, and it was signed for by the director of the VSC, so I'm hoping to get a "touch" soon, indicating that the letter was added to my file. Thanks.

On the USCIS site, you register for case status updates using your case number. When you check the status of your case, the "last updated" date is considered a touch.

However, the letter of intent may or may not make it to your case file. It'####### and miss. Good luck!

Yeah, I'm signed up for case updates. I'm just obsessively checking uscis.gov. Thanks.

Don't feel bad, most of us are obsessively checking, lol. The letter could be added to your file without seeing the "touch". Some people have posted that they've received the hard copy of their NOA2 while their case still appeared to be in "Initial Review" online. :) Best of luck!

Ha. Thanks. I'm hoping it's a good thing that it was the director who signed. If the documents never make it to my file, at least I know who I can write a strongly-worded letter to after all is said and done.

Judging from Igor's list, RFEs only take a couple of weeks, but I'm supposed to go meet my fiancée in Tashkent and come back with her. Those two weeks could really complicate my schedule. Anyway, thanks for the good thoughts.

You're welcome :) Yeah, some people actually view RFEs as a GOOD thing. At least your case is being worked on, and not sitting in a box on someone's desk...yellowing with age. lol :hehe:

I received my NOA1 on November 10, and was touched again on November 15. My case was not updated until April 26 when I received my NOA2 text message and Email approval notification. In other words, I only got an update on my online account after a decision was already made. Hope this helps.
