Good morning everyone,

I have been reading through some posts and was just curious if anyone who has been through this process could give me some details on how long your files took from when you received

the approval notice for the NOA2 (for K1 visa) until it went to NVC, then from NVC to consulate and then to inverview? I am just curious as to the approximate timeline we are working with here. Our NOA2 approval came in on the 28th. If anyone does not mind sharing with me their personal experience I would greatly appreciate it. I am just wondering when approximately my fiance would be having his interview. Hope everyone is doing well and having a good day!

Thanks all

WE received our NOA2 on Monday (11th April) we called the following Friday (15th April) they said there was no trace of our case just yet. We called again on Monday (18th April)- they said they have received our case on Friday (15th April)- we got our case number. We called again on Wednesday to check if it was sent to consulate in Dublin- they confirmed it was sent that day (20th April).

I just found out today that the consulate received my case and sent out packet 3...i haven't received it yet though.

Good luck and congrats!

We thought we'd be in and out of NVC in a week, since that's the average for most people.

That was 2+ weeks ago and everyday they keep telling us the same line "allow up to 15 business days". We've seen people with the same NOA2 date, from the same service center, already have their petition arrive at their consulate. It sucks, but not much you can do about it but wait...

You might find this useful: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=$cfl&op3=1 (search by service center, country, list by NOA2, NVC, etc)

I called the NVC and they have a standard answer of 2-4 weeks. LOL... OK Tuana, don't flip out on the waiting time this time. I think the NVC says that so they don't get a million fone calls everyday from the same person on the same case!

I can't imagine who'd call them every day  You are awesome lady. Ha ha ha ha. No I am not freaking out, actually, I am more calm now, much more calm then I was last week to be honest. Although give it a few days and I'm sure freaking out will settle right back in. It is what I do :innocent:

Until it arrives at the NVC they don't care how long you've been waiting. It remains the USCIS's problem and they won't raise a service request we were told until it's been unaccounted for for three months. Ours was left laying around at CSC for a month, and it was pressure from our congressman that got it moving. If it's not at NVC its almost certainly because the service center haven't sent it yet

That was our experience anyway.

However, once it did finally make it to the NVC is was processed within 4 days and only took a couple of days to make it to the consulate

I got my NOAS on March 21 - it was at NVC one week later on March 28 - it left for the embassy April 25 and arrived April 29

i was one of the longer cases

hopefully yours will be shorter

Yikes I hope things don't take that long. I am so anxious. But I know I am not the only one feeling this way, everyone else is in the same boat as me. This process is just so awful because we have no way to control how things go... I am a control freak so this is driving me bananas!

i know exactly how u feel

i am a total control freak and this process has been and still is horrible!!!!!

i did however (quite obsessively) focus on what i did have control over like the evidence for the interview

my focused energy concluded with a huge organized binder that weighed about 4 lbs and had a 5 page letter to my SO about the contents and what he needed to do lmao

I completely agree with you, that is where my focus has been, besides work and normal stuff is on getting all the documentation I need together for the next round. I am presently working on packages for if my Fiance's visa is approved for his AOS. Being a control freak in this process certainly does not help one bit!!!!!

So, I called today, just because I had to (you know because it is in my nature to do this that I know will still not provide results) , eventhough I knew they would not have the file yet and they gave me a different answer than they gave you....go figure

The man I spoke with said this could take 4-6 weeks, however as we were a K-1 that all K-1s are expedited, so that basically, once USCIS finally gets the file over to NVC that it usually only sits there a few days before going to the embassy. LOL I should call back again and see what answer I get now.

We received our NOA 2 on 15 April 2011. NVC received our case as of 27 April 2011. I just called today and they said his case was sent to the Johannesburg Consulate visa DHL on 28 April 2011. :) :) That means it should arrive within the next few days!!! :) :)

Same deal here. Our NOA2 was 4/14 and I've been calling every day. Always the same "15 business days" until today... 4-6 weeks
