On the USCIS website, bottom of the "My case status" page, the processing time for I 129F has moved from 5 months for USCIS national average to 13.6 months - is that a fault on their site or is that actually reflecting reality or am I being think in filling in the boxes?

I know from the timelines here that at least for VSC it's closer to 6-7 months than the 5 months they are aiming for but 13.6???

Yeah I noticed that too. However I am new to this whole thing (just sent in my I-129F which was received Apr. 18, 2011). I don't know why the national average is so high, but at least for the actual service center (in both our cases, Vermont), it still says 5 months.

Does anyone else know why the national average is so high, and if it has always been like that, or if it is a recent change?

Thanks.

I wonder if it could be because some cases do take a lot of time for extra background checks etc, not a lot that ive heard of but this could push the average up a bit i guess

actually the national avg has been 13.6 for a very long time...since I started checking back in dec...i'm not quite sure how that is possible though if both centers are at "5" months...dotn worry about it too much though!

@boomba - that's the thing: It jumped from 5 months to over 13 more or less overnight (me? obsessive? - no way! :P )

Oh well, I'm sitting here praying that VSC will keep up the roll they've been on recently so we can have a New England in the Fall - Wedding after all :)

Are you sure you were looking at the same thing both times? Maybe earlier you were looking at the VSC goal time.

Anyway, even if some cases took much longer, with the sheer volume of cases (from what I've read on here, it seems like there are a lot) and with most seeming to take 5-6 months, that average would not make sense. I think it might be an error, and I wouldn't worry about it.

Just a amateur here , but I would say its alll Visa avg not just K1s

And that was my second guess as well. Either way, I don't think it's a reliable statistic.
