Will Adams need to have his Birth Certificate, Criminal Record and all other official documents re-translated? Apparently some of the documents, like the criminal record, expire in 3 months from original date. We want him to take care of any requirements like this before he leaves for USA on Tuesday.

Also, is there any other documents you can think of that are required to obtain marriage certificate, work permit, drivers license, etc in the USA that was not part of our K1 package?

Thank you for your feedback.

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Hi, The only thing my husband needed here was his birth certificate translated to show. Once he gets here he will apply for a SS card and this will be used to show for driver license with valid passport. The only thing we showed for marriage certificate was his passport and social security card which they said we have to have before we even applied for marriage. My husband said he will need a least a week to get all documents done especially the criminal record as it takes almost a week just for that document alone. Unsure if he can get this all done by Tuesday or not. Hope all goes well though.

From my understanding, he will only need to have his birth certificate translated for the AOS. I don't think he needs to have his criminal records. If I'm mistaken, hopefully someone will come along and correct me on that.

Also, you should look at the marriage laws in your state to figure out what your fiance will need. Where I live, my fiance just needs to have a form of identification (passport) and if he was married before, divorce papers or a death certificate. Some states require a SSN - which your fiance will get when in the US.

The most important documents my husband brought were his translated divorce decree and his translated birth certificate. We just used the translations he had from his interview. He did not get new ones and we had no problems. You do not need to resubmit the criminal record clearance for AOS.

Congratulations again!

All my husband needed was his birth certificate, in fact would get a couple copies to have on hand... when I checked into translations here - they are quite expensive, compared to the prices in Morocco.
