He should do what most JAFO's do: Land at the county airport. Shake the hands of a few local dignitaries, promise to send everything they need, tip his FEMA cap, and get back on the helicopter. Takes five minutes -- tops, and he never leaves a secure environment.

I agree. The search and rescue is what is important, not some political imagery. I think he needed to make an appearance, but the fact that the search is going to be stalled to accommodate is going to leave a bad impression.

Believe it or not, I actually like Obama personally, I think he and the first family have presenting themselves in a far more dignified and presidential than the Clintons (or even the Carters) ever did.

Even Michelle, who I thought would provide a good political target has been A+ (over looking a few silly gaffs).

However: Obama is a socialist at heart, and that is where I can't abide by his policies and goals for this country.
