Military Expedite?

Hi there!

Hope all is well, and smooth processes!

Just my train of thought. Our approval should be in by, September 18th. If all is well.

Now, if we get delayed, there's a pretty good chance my husband will allready be shipped to OK for his basic training and AIT.

So he won't be able to sign, or do the paperwork. Since I figure 'technically' he's more less 'unavailable'.

You think that, if we reach the 5months, and still no news. It might be a reason for them to 'speed up' the case (if needed!)

He gets shipped Oktober 31th, and won't be back in his hometown till Christmas...

Keep OPSEC in mind at all times.

Military expedites are granted for active duty deployments to combat zones. Not for basic training.

I have even seen some active duty deployments that were to Iraq be refused an expedite.

Its a tough sale but if you have the deployment papers and a letter from the commander about the deployment to a combat zone it may be possible to get the expedite.

No he has to request it.

Military expedite needs to be requested by the active duty military person. The petitioner and beneficiary are the only two people that can do anything or have access to the petition and the information. USCIS will not recognize anyone else trying to do something for the petition.

Our son's case was given a military expedite, approved a month after filing, he was already deployed. All my husband had to give was a copy of his orders.

But no one can file his paperwork in NVC back and forth besides him?

Only you and him. If you had a lawyer do the papers the lawyer would correspond with you and USCIS. But no, family or parents cannot do anything with the petition.
