hey I filed AOS 2nd May. still haven't gotten the receipt yet. I don't know why. I confirmed it has arrived to chicago lockbox via USPS website tho.

would it be ok? just do I have to wait more?

Hi Kyungmin,

That's a while ago. My lawyer mailed out our packet the week before we receive our email/text confirmation. In the email it stated that we should receive the hardcopy 7-10 days. I received all the hardcopies together except one, which is I-765 ( Lost in Translation??) I'm so sorry, I can't help you with your dilemma. May be you should start a topic so that other VJers who has similiar experience can help you.

Best Wishes,

moSu

Hi everybody,

My wife is currently in the US on an F-1 student visa. We were married on March 24, 2011. I mailed the adjustment of status packet to the Chicago lockbox on May 13th, with delivery confirmed on the 14th. That was a Saturday, so I assume no one took a look at it until at least the following Monday, May 16th. I have not yet received any notification (either via e-mail or text) and the checks have not been cashed. How long should I expect to wait to hear something? It seems most people have a fairly quick turn around. If I don't hear anything within a reasonable timeframe, what should my next step be?

Thanks!

Hi anthroguy22,

I have heard of many people that didn't get any notification until a month after sending packets...So I think you shouldn't be too worried about it. But I would try calling USCIS just to check if they really received your packet and are working on it. Not sure if they'll be able to give you any info since you don't have receipt numbers..but it doesn't hurt to try. They received mine on May 17th and I already got email/text, and they cashed my checks..So you should be in the same time frame. Did you send the correct fees? $1070 + $420? If not, I think they would sent everything back to you because of incorrect fees...

I definitely included the correct fees, so I'm unsure what the hold-up would be about. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I hear something soon. I hate the waiting.

Wow! That's great! Yours is fast.. I'm so happy for you.. I already know my AOS process will probably take more than 6 months to process since i'm filing from NYC, but I'm still very happy seeing other people's progress.. I logged onto VJ website anytime, everyday, whenever I have internet access. My hubby said i'm a die-hard fan of VJ now..I barely log onto USCIS since my case is going to take a while. I've been through this wait while applying for H1B.. It was devastating!
