Answered prayer my husband is approved for his visa interview last July 5 & received his visa July 8.

Ok here is an update can anybody help me understand lol UGH...

I called DOS yesterday and they told me that the embassy has put our documents into review and I asked if they would let me know if they were accepted and she said no what they will do is IF they need more docs they will contact you otherwise if you don't hear anything then they have been accepted and visa will be issued pending his ap

then i asked can you explain his ap to me because I read wayy to many things.. she kinda laughed and said his ap is pending document verification mainly the ones we just submitted. She didnt mention the background checks from washington...(im sure if he had a hit she would not have said anyway) but because she only mentioned they are verifying our documents did we luck up and miss out on anything that would flag him for the really deep ap? I know there is no way of knowing until we see his visa but still. She said once the verification is done the visa can be issued. (or are we in for another round of ap once that is concluded?

Any thoughts?

Answered prayer my husband is approved for his visa interview last July 5 & received his visa July 8. Flight booked for July 12. We are so excited & happy, we can finally start our married life together. Thanx VJ friends! Goodluck to ALL most especially EAbbas, Calibob, Nattychic, Txant and Carty! I may not comment much, but I include you guys in my prayers! Godbless!!

Just wanted to update all of you on our case ...

the embassy called me to do a phone interview with me so he asked me about 10 questions and once satisfied that our relationship is real he told me that we have nothing to worry about..while technically he can't say we are approved he can say our case has nothing to worry about and now that my i 864 is accpeted and our relationship is genuine they will place my husband in the namechecks for the very last thing before issuing visa....

He said they don't do namechecks until evthing else is satisfied

of cos can't say how fast that will go but he did say that is the last step in our case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sooooooo.... i guess we are technically approved pending ap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great news!!! Congratulations- you are long overdue for some much deserved celebration! I hope the remaining checks are over in a hurry. It must be a great relief to know that your documents were accepted and the rest is just business as usual

thanks Kimsue.... I'm not totally relieved yet (now dealing with the unknown of how long namechecks will take) but... the fact remaims that my husband is from a MENA country therefore the scrutiny is far more in depth than that of a low risk country..we knew that going into it... and i'm older so of course that is a red flag... no matter how much older.. they always check which is fine...

I will say the CO that interviewed me on the phone was extremely nice and understanding and basically said that their job is to protect the US citizen...so with respect to that... I appreciate the extra scrutiny LOL but now at the same time.... Can my husband pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee come home now?
