When and who do I call to figure out if the NVC has my case

In most cases there is little or no communication needed between you and the NVC. In about 10 to 15 business days you should be able to contact your embassy and inquire as to whether or not they have your K-1 packet. It’s very important to get an interview date and email from the embassy so you can attend your medical. In the case with our embassy, waiting on special packets was not necessary. We called and made our own (Embassy) appointment, and we took into consideration of allowing time to finish our medical, and then gathered all the forms needed for the embassy interview. Make a note; you have to fully clear your medical before you attend your embassy interview. Thus, ensure you give enough time to clear your medical before scheduling an interview with your embassy. As well, understand the reality that some of you may get caught up in your medical processing longer than you anticipated. You can search the JV site for a list of forms needed to bring to your interview. Another important point is to make certain that your fiancée knows everything about you prior to the interview.

Here is my experience. We received our noa2 in the mail and I started calling. I called for over a week.I used the automated option. Nothing. So I emailed them. All the while I kept calling. I received an email back a couple days later stating I needed to contact the embassy for any info. So that sounded fishy to me. In the email was info that I had not sent them so I knew they had my file. I called the automated once again. Nothing. then I called and TALKED to an operator. She had the info I needed and said it was sent to manila 10 days ago. So do NOT use automated, talk to an operator.
