Hi there again,

I have just received my NOA 2 yesterday. I'm not sure what to do now. Please guide me. I couldn't find where it says they need to see my fiance tax return, when do I need this, and how far do they need? Do they need to see mine as well? What else should I get my fiance to send me apart from affidavit, bank statement, a letter of employment (he's in military), intend to marry letter. We do not have any engagement ceremony, and obviously we don't have any evidence, what should I do? Can my fiance pay for my visa in the state instead of paying in London embassy? And how do I do that? Argggggggggggg............I'm getting stress now please help me

It's recommended to provide 3 years of tax returns/transcripts. Only the petitioner needs to show this info - the beneficiary doesn't.

You'll need form I-134, a few months of paystubs, and a letter of employment. Bank statements are not needed unless you're using assets to supplement low income.

EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT: You must prove that you and any children who will accompany you are not likely to become a public charge while in the United States. The enclosed information sheet, Form DS-2000, lists evidence which may be presented to meet this requirement of the law.

Most applicants should submit an Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) signed by the petitioner with supporting financial evidence.

 a. Original Affidavit of Support (form I-134), signed by the petitioner before a notary public.

 b. Most recent Federal tax return (Form 1040 and W-2)

 c. A letter from his or her place of employment stating the rate of compensation; the location, type, and duration (whether seasonal, temporary, or indefinite) of the employment; and year-to-date salary.

 d. Pay slip showing year-to-date salary

 e. Recent bank statements.

This is what I gather from the checklist form that was handed to my fiancee and also it is on the US embassy website in the country where she resides.

Actually I was about to post similar question. What is required to satisfy the Evidence of Engagement on DS-156K?

Read the Guides.....Read the Guides....it's all spelled out there.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

You can pay for your interview in advance by ringing up; either you OR your fiance can pay. They will email a receipt of payment, that your fiance will need to bring to the interview.

Alternatively, your finance can pay ON the day of the interview. Note - they do NOT accept Visa Electron cards.. there may be other types they don't accept, but as we had a normal Visa card and paid in advance - it was fine.

For London, evidence of engagement isn't mandatory. Neither is an updated letter from your fiance.

US Embassy London web site is quite helpful - http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Also, for the I-134, two methods of 'support' will be fine - e.g. letter from your employer and tax transcripts. Tax transcripts are free to order, so order them as soon as.

Good luck!

Unfortuntely the UK wiki is a bit out of date now. The only link I know from me is a map I created. My K1 guide is no longer available.

The best information about the rest of your process is on the London website. If you will take time to study it and click all the links including those in the left and right columns, you will know what they want, all about the medical, fees, what to send in, how to get a police certificate, what to bring to the interview, and how to pay for the visa in advance.

Start here http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html (Step by step plus the forms are on that page)

Documents to bring to the interview here http://london.usembassy.gov/interview_documents.html (It's a link in Step Two of the start page) Those documents listed are ALL they want. They do not list new letter of intent, engagement proof, relationship proof, Skype, chats, emails, or photos showing you are in love. They WILL NOT look at it even if you bring it. Bring the documents they list to the interview depite what the DS-156K form says about mailing them in. London wants them brought in person to the interview, rather than mailed with the DS-156K.

Here is a link to the example forms and they help a lot too.

Visa Journey's example forms

Just make sure you have the newest form by doing a simple google search "ds-156k" and just make sure the expires date in the upper right hand corner is greater then todays date.

As for the tax returns I do not know how many the embassy in the UK wants but to order the tax transcripts have your fiance call the IRS at 1-800-908-9946. It is free to order them. Some embassys only need 1 year and some want 3 years, cannot hurt to order 3 years. I received mine in the mail and took about 7 - 8 days to get.

Also don't forget to get your police reports from any country you lived in from age 16 to now. You will need one from Thailand so you might want to call or email the Thai embassy in London.

Good luck. Chok dee

Edit for spelling.
