a country always has the right to take only the cream of the crop, to dictate who is allowed in the country permanently and who is not, and to reject those it feels will be a burden on it. welcome to reality. ;)

You have the gall to say this, and yet you're comint to the USA on a marriage based visa, a visa based entirely not on who is the "cream of the crop". At least illegal immigrants come to this country with the intention to work and contribute to the economy (anybody who thinks they don't hasn't got a clue how agriculture works), unlike a lot of K-1s.

"At least illegal immigrants come to this country with the intention to work and contribute to the economy"

And these "intruders" helped build the house.

Why didnt they built something In mexico??? heh???..

I dont know who is more despicable.

A) People trying to defend illigals using some idiotic arguments, lacking any sense or logic, or

B)people that posess this sense and logic, have a normal critcal opinion about illegals, but still trying to debate with A-people about it. Dudes youve got to realize its hopeless. They (type A) are the same sort as college kids that would still money from parents (in addition to paid tuition and housing/living expenses) to donate to charity. And thinking , gosh i did something good today. I am a good (better then my goddamn imerislistic parents for sure) person.

Illegal immigrants are BURDEN for economy. It was proven unambiguously. Find numerous reports and read, takes time. I know. And knowledge of math and economics. Only immigrants benefiting economy - those with college degree, no dependands. Illegals ARE taking jobs from low income people, forcing them to go either criminal or welfare way (affects minorities most, not a white trash liberals). You are stealing from us people that didnt have parents (like you did( to pay their way thru college.

If You want to open the border - Go live to Mexico, because thats how it will look like after the border is open. Join you Jabvier/Jose/Pedro/Maria/Eloisa without Any K-1 and I-601 waivers.

Gosh!

glad you brought that up. ever wonder how many of these illegals have a criminal record?

• In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.

• A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The bloody gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia, the dominant force in California prisons, on complex drug-distribution schemes, extortion, and drive-by assassinations, and commits an assault or robbery every day in L.A. County. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.

• The leadership of the Columbia Lil’ Cycos gang, which uses murder and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.’s MacArthur Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.

Roughly half of those arrested had criminal records for crimes that ranged from sexual assault of a minor to assault with a deadly weapon, to abduction, a news release said. The operation has caught more than 140 immigrants with convictions for sexual offenses against children; 367 known gang members, including street soldiers in the deadly Central American gang Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13; and about 640 people who had already been deported once, immigration officials said. The numbers include more than 720 arrests in California alone.

Excuse me, Dr! I think terrorist is a grossly overused word. In fact, I think it's used as a scare tactic. I'm just saying if it's fair for the goose, it's fair for the gander.

As far as housewives, get off your high horse! It's a woman's (or man's) right to choose whether or not she wants to stay home. It's not a choice I would make, but if others can afford it and desire it...so be it. That's a completely different issue. It's belittling to the female species to use that as an example.

worth posting again

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

tsunamihart,

Simplicity has it's value and can often be used as a starting point. Or to put things into a certain perspective (which can be good or bad, depending on motive). But simple analogies do not eliminate complexities that exist and must ultimately be dealt with.

...Cristina and I just got back from Barcelona on vacation with her family and this was waiting in my email inbox, thought provoking if not simplistic...
