What are people's thoughts on arriving on Vivaaerobus at 7:40 am and heading right over to do the medical? Our other option is him arriving the day before. I've read that you need to arrive between 6 am and 11 pm. Can he show up for his medical with a small backpack and important papers? Or, should everything except the invitation letter and his "cartilla" be left at the hotel?

I'd love to hear thoughts on travel from Mexico City to Juarez.

One week until my fiancé's interview! Hip hip hurray!

Also, I see that Matt flew back the day of the interview. I'm thinking about buying a changeable ticket with Aeromexico for 7 pm the day of my fiancé's interview. Thoughts?

Monday - arrive to Juarez at 7:40 am (on Vivaaerobus), medical at 10:00 am

Tuesday - ACS at 2 pm (medical could be done at 6 am if Monday wasn't possible)

Wednesday - interview at 7:15 am, flight to Mexico City at 7 pm

We are also considering arriving arriving on Sunday to not rush to get to the medical appointment, but the less time in Juarez, the better.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.....

We're thinking of doing the same and fly back to GDL the same day of the interview. The only thing that would stop us from doing that is if there isn't a flight for that day that is kinda late, like 8 pm or later, because if you're stuck at the consulate till late you might not make it to the flight. Other than that I don't see why not, unless you were denied or asked to go back the next day for whatever reason but that's why you should get a ticket that you can change flight dates on as you mentioned.

I haven't heard a single comment on whether you can or can't take anything with you but the letter, so I can't help in that aspect, but why don't you try calling the clinics and see what they have to say about it?

From my understanding it can be a long wait at medical if you do not arrive early. He could miss his ASC appointment. Check out the review that C Maria just did about Juarez...just plan for all possibilities!

And send us all a review when he is finsihed, mucha suerte!!!! we will be thinking of you!

My fiancee went to the medical first thing when she arrived on Monday morning around 7am and got it done without any issues.

As for flights could you book it after the interview is over just to be safe? It is possible that they may want more documents if something goes wrong. Otherwise shouldn't be an issue flying back and receiving the package at your local DHL.

Hello All,

My Fiancé has his interview on Thursday May 9. His ASC appointment is May 6th at 7 am, and then he'll need to see the doctor either that same day or on the 7th or 8th. I've only been able to find flights via Interjet from Mex City to Juarez. From your experiences is it acceptable to arrive May 5th and leave the same day of the interview? or Do you recommend leaving the day after the interview? Also can anyone recommend a decent hotel that's near the consult and ASC?

I appreciate your advice and wish you well.

Thanks

Roma-

My husband had his interview there. You should do his medical a day or so before his interview. Takes half s day to get the xrays back. They'll have a waiting area for u but they won't let u in with him. Don't get tricked by the guys in front of the clinic they aren't part of the clinic. They'll take ur money. We stayed at Hotel Ibis. Its affordable, its nice, has a restaurant inside and reputable taxis wait outside. Its next door to both clinics and across the street from the consulate and the mall.

Oh and the ASC is right past the consulate by the consulate waiting area in a little area like a shopping center. About a block over from the hotel.when u go for the ASC appointment u can't take ur cell, cigs, belt, nothing. They'll make u throw it in the trash.

Thank you! I'll look into the hotel and I appreciate the advice about the Medical exam and ASC. Do the let you both in to the ASC or just my Fiancé? I can't believe he can't go in with a belt! I've, also heard that, obviously we can't go into the interview with our Fiancé's, but will they let you in the embassy to wait if you are a USC or no? I assume I'll be spending a lot of time in the hotel and mall lol, but I'd rather be with him when I can, to support him, than anywhere else, so I'll take it. :-) If you can think of any other recommendations let me know! I'll take anything you got! :-) It's so wonderful to have this site where you can discuss your experience because really, the consulate and well no one, really helps you prepare for what's in Juarez or tells you what to expect! Thanks again!

All my best!

No they won't let u go in the ASC interview with him or inside thhe consulate. Both places have waiting areas for u though. Even though u can't go in make sure u go to Juarez with hiim. Some people were put off because they didn't bring their spouses with them so they thought the relationships were lies. And plan to leave the day after. They had lost some of our documents from when we first filed the I130 so I had to send to the U.S. and have them faxed to me. Then I had to have DHL deliver them. They won't let u just take stuff back to the embassy. I hope u have better luck than us. My husband had been in the U.S. for 25 years, we had been married 8 years, and he had an 18 year old and 19 year old american citizen sons and we r now having to do the I601 waiver for him having been here more than a year. Been waiting since December on it.

By the way, is the ASC the same thing as the police certificate/ criminal record check? Since they take his fingerprints and ask for the same documentation he thought maybe they were the same thing. I'm just clarifying so that if it's not the same thing, he can get his records this week.

Thanks-

Mexico doesn't have to do the police certificate. They use the finger prints to run through FBI data base for his back ground check.
