I am in debt, can i still get a tourist visa for Asia?

Hello,

So its like this, i didnt pay insurance for a whole year because i lost my job.

I have a good job again now but i am still far behind with my debt, still paying it.

Can i still get a tourist visa even thought im in debt?

Or wont the government allow it because a visa is counted as luxury or something? if your in debt..

you will have to met the countries requirement where you are wanting to travel to, in order to obtain the visa.

But just curious, if you in debt why would u wanna add more to your debt and travel to Asia???

Which country in Asia are you looking to visit? Check their entry requirements. Most Asian countries that require you to obtain a visa prior to arrival don't need you to provide much in advance for a tourist visa. At most, all that will be required is an return or onward ticket.

well, because i can live with a friend there. so wont have to pay rent, and i got an offer to DJ there in 2 clubs, wich makes good money.

same money as i get here, but in thailand everything is cheaper so its realy good for me, cause first of all its my dream to play music in foreign countries and i can continue paying my debt at the same time.

so basicly my plan is to stay there on a tourist visa and work there as DJ, wich isnt counted as official job.

You will have to check the requirement for Thailand…. Wht is required by them.

Most countries want to see is that you would not stay in there illegally and you would return back to your home country.

We always just got a 30 day visa when we landed there.... i dont remember them asking anything other than our purpose for the visit........

Excerpt from the State Department information page for Thailand.

If you are a U.S. citizen tourist staying for fewer than 30 days, you do not require a visa, but your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your entry into Thailand. You may be asked to show an onward/return ticket. If you enter Thailand by air without a visa, you are allowed to stay in Thailand for 30 days per visit. If you enter Thailand by land without a visa, you are allowed to stay in Thailand for 15 days per visit. In either case, if you have entered Thailand without a visa, you cannot remain in Thailand for more than 90 days during any six-month period, counting from the date of first entry. After 90 days, you must apply for a new visa at a Thai embassy outside of the country.
