G325A for CR1

Im doing the g325a for our CR1 and have a few questions if someone can advise please.

1) The 'file number' in the top right hand corner....should I have a number yet? I entered the US originally on a K1, got married, and am now back in the UK. Where do I get my 'file number'?

2)'Applicant's residence last five years'List present address first'

When I left the UK, we lived with with my in-laws at their house, which was the address I registered when I got my SSN Card. I take it I also put this address down?

3) US Social Security # (if any)

I was given a card when I applied for one whilst on my K1. Do I put this # down, or is it a void # now?

4) The tick box towards the bottom left This form is submitted in connection with application for

Naturalization

Status as Permanent Resident

Other (specify)

For the CR1....which do I tick/write down?

and finally

5) and finally, at the bottom of the forms the Alien Registration Number, where do I obtain mine, if I have one?

Question: You originally entered USA on K1, and are now in UK, did you not start AOS?

You may want to contact an immigration attorney about adjustment of status when overseas this considered a DCF, you may qualify and be able to do the interview at the consulate.

DCF is much quicker than doing another visa application. Check also at the consulate about DCF.

Too answer questions

1) File number May be your alien registration number.

2) Your US residence will be listed but not first since you are not presintly living there.

3) The number should still be valid.

4) Yes but it may be for DCF if you consider that

5) The Alien number is on the original NOA2 Approval receipt printed above your name.

thanks for that, thats given me another aspect.

We did not start AOS, as I had to leave the US PRIOR, to undergo urgent medical treatment.

Having looked at DCF, how do you know if you are allowed to go this way, ie why doesnt everyone go this way?

I got married on a K1, had to leave the US and my wife to come back here. I might give them a call.

DCF is not an option in all countries, but your case like an excellent one to use this method, you did every thing correct for the K1 so why have the USCIS center repeat what they have already done, the DCF should be an option in the UK.

Is your husband living with you there? If so DCF may be a possibility, I do read from other sources that the US Citizen need to be in UK not on a temporary Visa though.

Thanks, but Ive just spoken to the London Embassy, as I am not eligible for DCF as my wife is a resident in the US

1) The File number is an Alien Registration number. As you have been issued one already with your K-1, you will put that here. It is an 8 or 9 digit number that starts with an A. If you cannot find it, you can put unknown.

2) Yes, you will include the US address.

3) Yes, you will put the SSN that you were issued.

4) Other........I-130 petition for alien relative.

5) See 1)

And no you would not be able to do DCF in London with your wife not being a resident.

I lived here since 1983, but this was 'broken up' by my move to the US, then I came back to this address whilst beginning the CR1.

Would I just put 'as above', or 'from 1983' to 'present', or put the month i left here, prior to my return? I hope that makes sense?!

ie from 09/1983 to 03/2006 or

from 09/1983 to present?

09/1983 to 03/2006 as this is the timeframe of more then one year and what the question is asking for. Put the address again even though it is listed in the above question. The question does not state 'only if different from above'
