i130 docs - BC of naturalized US citizen

Hi! I'm a little bit confused with the Journey's checklist for i-130. Among other items it says:

4. Copy of the full Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport. This is used to establish citizenship.

5. A copy of petitioner's proof of naturalization. (If applicable)

So, my question is simple:

As a petitioner do I have to submit my birth certificate from Ukraine along with i130?

Or just US naturalization certificate will work?

How would an Ukrainian birth certificate establish your US citizenship? I mean, seriously!

Your US passport is a class A document to do that. Your Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship would work as well, but is not necessary.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

What about if the person doesn't have a US passport (it's mainly required for traveling abroad)?

I know, many people are sending naturalization certificates.

Plus, what's the point of making copies of each empty page in the passport?

Ukrainian birth certificate - is only for proving your birthplace in country of origin (if it's needed) and, of course, not for establishing my US citizenship :D

If a naturalized US citizen does not have a US passport, neither a passport book nor the $25 passport card, has no proof of his US citizenship other than that one piece of paper that is not even accepted by USCIS itself for I-9 purposes as proof of US citizenship, the one document that takes 12 to 21 months to replace, than he or she is stupid beyond belief and deserves to lose his Certificate in a flood or fire or earthquake and go through hell, document-less, for a long, long, long time.

I have compassion for those who are less fortunate, but not people who are trying to sabotage themselves to the max.

So I assume your question was purely rhetorical. No naturalized US citizen who is of sound mind is without a US passport. Not a single one.

That was a bit harsh Bob don't you think? OK you have a point but you don't have to go to the extreme. Yes it is maybe the hardest document to replace but maybe the OP doesn't know that. So I would urge the OP to apply for a passport ASAP.

At the moment in your case for time being you can send a copy of your naturalization paper and disregard the wording that says "Do Not Duplicate" on it lol.
