I guess the answer to this question depends on where on the political spectrum you are. There are several absurd people out there with ignorant theories to perpetuate that he is the kenyan manchurian candidate. Just look at that theory that he was adopted by his stepfather and moved to Indonesia and lost his citizenship then. Everyone on this site knows that is plain false, but you can bet there will be people perpetuating that myth. The birthers wanted to see his birth certificate 2.5 years ago, he showed it. That wasn't enough, so they demand for 2.5 years to see the long form of it, he showed it. Again, that wasn't enough for some. I guess they are looking for the smoking gun that shows he's a non citizen, or at least that he's a muslim. I don't know which one would be more offensive to the teabaggers.

Some of 'em post here and have been vocal about their skepticism over Obama's legitimacy. Let's call a spade a spade and not dance around the fact that we have some members here who have some pretty far out there ideas.

Is asking for proof that the president of the United States be a US Citizen (as required by law) a far out there idea?

It is when the same proof that is accepted by the State Department for a passport (short form birth cert) is somehow not deemed acceptable to these people

in playing Devil's advocate here, asking for full proof of citizenship of what is (or once was) the most powerful position in the world, should not be too much to ask.

That proof was provided in 2008. Continuing to ask for what's already been presented is far out there. The release of the cert today does not prove anything that wasn't already officially on the record. It basically just pulled the rug from under the far out there crowd. Of course, those on the edges of the far out there crowd quickly found a new rug to stand on.

Is there still an Argument over Obama's Citizenship?

Absolutely. There needs to be. World Nut Daily's Joseph Farah has a book on Obama's ineligibility to be President slated to hit the shelves in a couple of weeks - mid May. If the argument about his citizenship stops, the book will be a flop as it would obviously be useless. So, the argument needs to continue. And it will.

The release of the cert today does not prove anything

other than Obama's fear of Donald Trump shedding some negative light on his already dwindling in popularity hopey-changey thingy.

Well, according to recent polls, Obama outperforms The Donald by comfortable double digit margins. There are 63% of voters now that say that they will definitely not vote for The Donald - including about half of all Republicans. Aside from that, The Donald isn't actually running for President and has no intention of doing so. There goes your brilliant theory. But thanks for playing and do try again if you feel you can come up with something tangible.

Trump doesn't have to become the next president to win... he just has to "help" make sure it's not Obama. So far, looks like he's doing a pretty good job of that.

How so? He's turning off even half of the Republicans. How does that help? Besides, Trump doesn't even care whether Obama is getting a second term. Trump cares about Trump. He is out to solely to make a buck and will make money from this while pimping the Republicans and the media to reach that goal. The GOP isn't but a vehicle for him to gain publicity on which he will cash in. And it seems an easy vehicle to ride...

You don't think that running for President requires a higher standard of proof?
