Bashing a man who has just died - classy.

Is there a passage in the Bible that tells you how to do that, or did you come up with it all on your own?

Its losers and jerkoffs like you who ruin message boards for the rest of us.

Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel

Steve Irwin bothered animals in their natural habitat and nature finally fought back and owned him.

Since when do you care what the bible says?

I'm sure Steve was a nice enough guy and did a lot to raise awareness about conservation issues - nothing against him personally, dying in pursuit of something you love is perhaps better than wasting your life working dull jobs you hate. Still, he was clearly a controversial figure and took a lot of risks that were perhaps unnecessary - the baby incident in particular lost him a lot of supporters.

These days, if Britney Spears can get hauled over the coals (and receive a visit from child protective services) for holding her baby on her lap while driving a car, holding your kid out over a crocodile would seem to have something of a larger question mark over it, no?

Here's something else I don't get - why is it people love to slag off celebrities when they are alive, but as soon as they die they become some sort of saint? Might as well be Diana all over again - that $hit never gets cold. Apparently.

I never liked Steve Irwin much, except in seeing the joy he brought to my wee brother's face years ago, but I still think it's in bad taste to slag off anyone who just died. There's got to be some sort of grace period, for the sake of human decency.

I personally was no big fan of Steve Irwin. I just wasn't into watching his shows. His style got old to me a long time ago. But I don't like making fun or cheapening anyone's death no matter if I like them or not. I may not be very sad about their deaths, but family deals with it the hardest and that's who I feel bad for.

Good question. Why is Diana so great again? Mother Teresa died shortly after and the media was obligated to honor her as much as Diana. Remember that?

Steve Irwin did do a lot for conservation but is anyone surprised he was killed by an animal he was filming?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

i'm still baffled by why diana overshadowed mother teresa. i feel mother teresa did far more in her lifetime than diana did, and that diana's accomplishments were primarily due to her position/rank.

and no, not the least bit surprised he was killed by an animal. mess with the bull........get the horns, ya know?

True enough. The guy's family deserves every sympathy. On the flip-side, Steve was a controversial figure when he was alive, and the sorts of criticisms directed against him are no untypical of those directed towards people in the public eye.

This may come out wrong, but I am really sick of hearing about Steve Irwin.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his family get thru this tragedy. But the way people are chuntering on, you'd think he was the only man who ever died!

Good people die everyday, and yes...he was a public figure, but his death is no more of a loss than the people who died yesterday......
