Got my medical coming up in a couple of weeks so went to my GP to get my injections up to do

I needed chickenpox, tetnus and MMR

As I've already had chickenpox i don't need that one, as far as I know they take your word for that, is this correct?

On the other two, tetnus is no problem, but for the MMR I need two injections, one today and another one can't be for at least a month

Is this going to be a problem for my medical? I can get the second one done after that, but obviously it won't be up to date in two weeks when I have my medical in London

Yes, they take your word for the chicken pox at the medical, no worries there.

The MMR won't cause you problems at the medical. You can opt not to have any vaccinations at the medical. You only need proof of the vaccinations for AOS once in the US. I went to the medical having had no jabs done at all and said I would get them done before I went to the US by my GP. They are fine with that. Just make sure you get a print our from the GP showing you had them done, and get them to stamp it and sign if possible, that's what I did. This is because you will have to prove to a civil surgeon in the US that you have had them done.

AS per Nigel&Meggie, I had the same experience. All the nurse at Kensington will do is mark down on the sheet which you have had and the doctor will sign it off. Your GP should be able to confirm all childhood vaccinations from your medical records (most charge a small fee to put all your medical records onto a disk if they're computerised or photocopy your file for you to bring to your new doctor in the US) so you can confirm which you need. Provided you have the minimum legal requirement before you attempt to AoS so the Civil Surgeon can sign off the I-693 you'll be fine. :)

I was hoping to get all my vaccinations signed off at the medical to make the AOS easier

My doctors can't do a proper vacination record, they've written down what I had today and stamped it, but thats as much as I have to take to the knightsbridge doctors.

Which I assume will be enough for the medical, but I guess for AOS I'll just have to get everything photocopied and bring it to America.

So what is a civil surgeon and how much are they going to ####### rape my wallet to sign stuff off from my records. My records again are a bit of a sorepoint as my childhood vacinations are entirely missing, and from them some stuff is on paper and other stuff on the computer so its a bit of an administrative mess

You only need one jab of MMR to pass AOS if you get it all written on your vaccination form at Knightsbridge. (If you later go to a civil surgeon in the US, he may want to give you another because time has passed.)

You're fine with varicella.

I'm concerned with tetanus. It's not just a tetanus shot. The requirements are Diptheria/Tetanus/Pertussis and the acceptable shot for the AOS adjudicator is one of the following:

Td, Tdap, DT, DTP or DtaP

(Td and DT are boosters without the pertussis component if you had DTP shot as a baby)

If you will read this thread started April 17 in the UK forum, there is a lot of information about shots and I don't want to write it all again.

You don't need to take any medical records from your GP to the US unless it's for your own personal use. The visa medical exam results go to USCIS in the brown envelope you turn in at POE.

If thats true about the MMR thats one less thing to worry about.

As for the tetnus what I've had says Reraxis, Dip, Tct, IPV

So thats Tetnus, Diptheria and Polio

Which means I'm missing the one for whooping cough

Not really much i can do before the medical i guess.

I'll have a read through that other thread, thanks
